I think prazole is referingto the 667ghz RAM. 800ghz is not available in any other RAM dealers at the moment.
paultantk
should be fine, am looking for both types. 800 for my imac and 667 for my mbp.

hey, guys....
i'm just wondering, does the apple computers used the same ram as the pc ram or ram that specific for apple computers only?
its just i heard before mac is using different ram from the pc???
xaw5126
Mac-spec RAM is built differently. Apple provides a different specification (or the RAM manufacturer requests it)...

basically it will retain the data even when there's less current supplied than the normal PC spec.

physically its the same. its the inside thats different.

nowadays, here & myMUG, it appears that most Macs can use PC RAM. but I didn't want to risk it, so I bought my RAM from Crucial.com, my friend in the UK brought it back with her smile.gif

now im running at 3 gb..

using kingston DDR2 Sodimm 800MHz.. i bought at RM145 from forumer call stealth89
u guys can contact him..

so far no prob..
there is as bro rx330 told me this internet site www.moresales.com.my is indeed selling this same specs but its by Adata.. and below RM140
if u wanna save a few bucks u can buy there too.. as his fren is using w/o problem.. or u can get kingston..

its definitely much cheaper than outside stores.. i been surveying liao.. either they have it for around RM185-200.. or no stock..
so u can get from this forumer.. thats all!

for those who not sure this is for imac only & those manufacturer date is later than April 08

I just bought the IMAC a month ago... they upgraded my RAM to 4G when i bought the apple care...
can think about it..
vivixeon
For Imac, i only recommend the 800Mhz KTA.. coz i scared that application can quit unexpectedly/crash if u use KVR RAM.. yes, its a lil bit too pricy, but yet its good..
Frenly

Macbook Pro 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
ronniefai
conclusion is to buy the RAM ourself and get it install?
elico
@ Frenly

urs shud be running on Santa Rosa chipset, maximum can use up to 4GB (2x 2 GB) of DDR2 667 RAM, u can get those Apple Certified KTA RAM or those normal laptop DDR2 667 RAM also can, shud be working fine since so many MacBook user test with their mac

the 2GB in ur MBP is KTA or those normal laptop RAM?? Best is both stick of RAM identical in spec and brand, to ensure stability and performance for Dual Channel
Frenly
hmmm..i haven't update yet .as i m thinking should i get cosnair 2 gig ram or Kingston 2 gig ram
