so which engine can i change which is cheapest? change engine can use back the old gearbox rite?

normally change engine take how long?

btw im staying in Puchong, wanna know nearby got any nice half cut engine?

u can do that, but make sure the driveshaft is not touching the oil sump. common problem that happens when the 1.6 engine is put into a kembara......

this engine can fir kembara? looks strong

malaysia boleh maa..anything is possible now a days...just find an experienced mechanic that manage to do this conversion and consult him about which engine to choose...my friends car, old fiat 131 also can put sr20det engine....only that matters is $$$$$...

means have to modify the car to fit 1jz loh?

1.6 4ag(130hp) is already enough but you will not have 4wd. I think it will be easier to fit.

Detomaso has almost same engine block with first model kembara.

crank power around 125hp..

for Newer Kembara. k3vet is the best to mount in it.

They Do Have Auto. k3vet is a 1.3l engine FYI. Detomaso is FWD(correct me if i am wrong) That is why i said you should choose 4ag(can be converted to rwd). BTW what type of drivetrain? You would like to choose. 4WD/FWD/RWD.

why dun u try opt for Daihatsu Terios Turbocharged engine....it's the original model for Kembara..

i've saw few Terios halfcut before at chop shop....price wise dunno loh

Just replace by buying from chop-shop Daihatsu engine kosong HD(1.6) or HE(1.5) & do a direct swap which is much-much cheaper, no need to replace anything else. BHP maybe not much difference but much better torque between 1.7K rpm to 3.5K. Registering with Puspakom inspection also no problem as all ori engine/gearbox mountings will still be stock standard.

standard upgrade for kembaras are converting to HD from HC ...

easy with JPJ and easiest , fastest and cheapest way about it ...

Price range might be about RM$1000 or so ... you probably dun need anything else other than a HD engine kosong ... however I am not certain about the ECU ... maybe need a little playing around with it bah ...

use only engine block. i mean dont need buy whole halfcut. just buy the engine block.
