It was 28 June 2008 (Saturday) , coolice came to my house after we did some serious planning. We are going to test the Biostar TPower I45 under ln2 cooling. Our objective is sub 8s in super pi 1M brows.gif

Cut the craps, let's start the story laugh.gif

like most of the oc sessions , it begins with insulation. Preparation done by coolice
[attachmentid=516582]
The legendary Astra pot in action
[attachmentid=516588]
[attachmentid=516599]
my tiny pot tongue.gif
[attachmentid=516600]
Not much space between CPU and NB sad.gif
[attachmentid=516603]
ok done. That's why coolice is so relax and meditating there. tongue.gif
[attachmentid=516607]
3pin socket for vcore mod. Done by coolice thumbup.gif
[attachmentid=516611]
Molex for vcore and Vmch measurements. icon_rolleyes.gif
[attachmentid=516627]

Test bed
CPU: C2D E8400
Motherboard: Biostar TPower I45
Ram: Crucial balistix 8500
PSU: Gigabyte Odin Pro 800W
HDD: Raptor WD740GD
[attachmentid=516630]

Let's start! Can't wait to pour the ln2 laugh.gif
[attachmentid=516631]
smoking...
[attachmentid=516633]
we try to find out the cold bug of the processor at the beginning, it was around -115C
[attachmentid=516635]

Let's do some exercises first , wprime 1024M at 660fsbx6 tongue.gif
too bad, coolice did super pi 4M test as well on 660fsbx6 but the screenshot has gone due to the OS crashed.
[attachmentid=516639]
Vcore 1.72v, everything seems good
[attachmentid=516642]

later on, try to push the clockspeed. 5.899GHz achieved!
CPU-Z Link: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=382687
Not hard push though, as you can see we are still using dual channel ram.

For Super Pi 1M, best hit 8.156s ,
[attachmentid=516646]

Actually we have better achievement. It was 8.094s but we failed to take down screenshot on the spot. cry.gif
[attachmentid=516648]

sub 8s , so close yet so far away. sad.gif
Never mind, it was great try after all thumbup.gif

Lastly, thanks to Biostar for the motherboard, also thanks to penapis for the dewar and ln2 notworthy.gif

Nice. I don't know much about LN2 cooling but is it something like "disposable" cooler?

to coolice : sorry for delay deal on dewar...take months to get u the 30L..
is it in working condition...can hold the LN2 with less dissipation per day??
price of LN2..keep it to yourself...hehehhehe

to dblooi : sorry for making u go around selangor to find my office..
did u buy anything at pasar borong selayang?? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Oh shit.. E7200... shocking.gif
a1098113
laugh.gif sounds like your shocked.. 127% oc is relatively if you can bench an e2140 to 3.6Ghz. A little help with nitrogen does help, but the time will come where u can run this as a normal setup..
coolice
looks like we need another sub forum called extreme overclocking,else ppl will just whining about running it for daily

really? i remember you are the one who question me why not perform stress test on WR. You say it will be more memorable bla bla bla.

Now i wonder, since when people use orthos when they are doing extreme overclocking?
a1098113
now i kena shot pulak.... tongue.gif icon_rolleyes.gif for now la bro.. haiyoooo, well i have a point though, since ppl always question about stress test in overclocking, maybe it doesnt work for extreme cooling, i am noob la. Paiseh now.
