My AVG detected a I-Worm/Brontok.KO
However my BitDefender detected nothing. Is this just a false positive because I heard the new version of AVG has a lot of
false positives(Using it now). Can't say BitDefender rarely update because I update everyday.
Eventhough I can't see any changes in my computer I am worried.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Why don't you tell AVG to try and clean it? If that failed, there are plenty of other methods at

Usual symptoms of Brontok is missing Folder Option, regedit and task manager being disabled. If you are facing any of this problem, please post up a HijackThis log.

Oh, I don't face that. Task Manager still okay, so is it just a false positive?

Well, since your computer still doesn't have any abnormal situation happen, then should be ok. But don't worry, even you are affected by the brontok, all the setting it made still can be solve. Don't worry guy. By the way, i not really like the Bitdefender antivirus, coz it kind of over sensitive.

As an advice, if ur pc is connect to a LAN. tell ur frens. coz brontok does infect thru file sharing. Lastime my housemate 's pc got infected. then everyone pc also got infected.

You mentioned that you did not see any changes, from my point of view it would most probably be that your anti-virus has already deleted the virus. My college's computer lab all has this virus and after I plugged in my thumbdrive to my laptop, my anti-virus detects it and automatically deletes it.

Well, ok since my Antivirus doesn't detect it anymore, then it should be okay right?

try use Nod32 to reconfirm. AVG is not a reall reliable antivirus.
Last time it detects 500 virus on a pc after it said clean i restart all the virus still there.
Doesnt detect it doesnt mean its not there. Some anti virus can detect some cant it defends on its virus definition
