I will be moving in to my rumah sewa in Melaka this Sunday and my house mates have asked me to arrange getting an internet connection for the house.

However, we will only be staying in that house until April next year, which is around 10 months.

There are 6 of us in that house, all living on a student budget.

So what package is suitable for us?

How do we go about getting a line set up? The house already has a telephone line.

Any other suggestions beside Streamyx?

I would say streamyx but then you'll be bounded to a 1 year contract. since you guys will be there like for 10 months. You only have two limited options - that is to go for Celcom wireless broadband or Maxis.

The choices are up to you and yours alone. For celcom , you'll have to get a modem and as for maxis you'll have to pay RM 200 handling fees once you terminate your Maxis wireless broadband (but it comes with a modem).

Assuming you guys are student , so I am thinking that you guys are into p2p file sharing and gaming. am i right ?

bro, pasal guna streamyx tak cukup tempoh tu... kita tak perlu terminate streamyx tu pun tak ape.just pindahkan la akaun streamyx tu ke tmpt lain. contohnya ke rumah tetap ke. because if you terminate, nnt kena bayar denda.serupa je pindahkan ke rumah lain.

terminate = kena bayar denda, bayar ikut remaining month.streamyx tak boleh guna.

pindah tempat = tak perlu bayar denda, streamyx still boleh guna macam biasa.

yes... the coverage would be very poor and the speed (or lack of) will literally set you on tears... huhuhu...
i doubt there'll be any 'gaming' but we do like to download a lot...

basically what he's saying is i don't have to terminate the line, i can just transfer it to another home...
