Mine easy to transfer and process. Took me few minutes to download all 400++ photos and delete them.

p.s. Right after you guys left, I went to the stadium to get my car. Some drift competition was going on there.

My Humble opinion differs from this. However, everything is up to own interpretation. It is useful in some cases and not in others.

Don't worry myjunk. No offence taken. I'm all ears to opinions. Actually I do think that I should have focussed the bf too but my settings wasn't optimised at that moment. It's usually impossible to recreate the same shot and so that photo is the best I made for that pose. Will try better next time.

The composition for your teaser shot is cool. However, I personally feel that the green is too distracting. Much like my 1st model shooting I did.

bunvirus : That's a style of shooting. As what I have read, some of it is more towards making sure the model fits in the frame. There are times when it's OK and there are times when it's NOT.

I still don't know how to differentiate. See Master Shinchan's gallery and you will understand how sometimes it's OK to chop and when it's not. Also, if you look at those Loreal/clinique shops @ Jusco, you will also see these sort of pics/style.

Added on June 29, 2008, 8:39 pmmengsuan : just MHO ah.. I've seen some of these "shots" which really got Oomph one. I also trying it out, but not been too successful.

My other opinion was that the session was too quick and Xin Hui especially has too many quick pose changes, I can hardly keep up with her what with so many of us that she needs to "look" at.

I guess, this is also good practice to make the 1 shot count.

On the raw conversion, can you check if you're using Adobe RGB colorspace and then when you convert for web, you _are_ still using Adobe RGB? You need to change it to sRGB for the colours to not look washed out.

(PS: I was reading about Adobe RGB vs sRGB this morning too. Learning about what's the difference etc. My current conclusion? Still blur!!! keke )

i did nothing for the composition. left it as it was taken. only cropping was done. my trademark 'self-made vignetting' may be distracting to some ppl. it's just my style. however, thx for ur honest opinion. appreciate it...

OK, done processing all

I have some understanding about colour space but not very proficient in handling colour space in photoshop. The RAW appears to be in Adobe RGB when loaded in Photoshop Camera Raw. After opening the image in Photoshop CS3 itself, colour space turns to sRGB because I selected sRGB as my colour space. At that moment, it start to look a little washed off.

Nivac : mind you describe yourself? eg: Where you sit during the LRT mamak session?

Err.. self made vignette? YOu mean the green is self made vignette? Okay.. I see.


Mengsuan: If I understand correctly, that is the problem. If _not_ mistaken, what should happen is

adobe RGB-> Camera-Raw->Adobe RGB-> photoshop -> convert to 8 bit -> Save for Web-> Change to sRGB color.

The problem, as I understand it, is the conversion from Adobe RGB to sRGB w/o the 16bit->8 bit thingy.

I think lah..

hmm i think my pics are under exposed...any1?cos each time i post something tats right in my eyes its dark to ppl..n this is abit dark..i guess its alot darker to u all?

Actually, I think they are over-exposed. Esp those with the sky in them.
Perhap only the last one, your secret shot of the couple.

oh that was when valho lend me his flash..other pics of them were too dark.n the ones i took with my on cam flash were too glaring on their face

yea im still learning how to have the foreground bright n not have the sun/light behind too bright.any pointers?

tytons : Ah.. no flash. That's the problem. Even with flash, I also need to up my ISO to 400 to get better exposure and that's with nearly 3 strobes in action!

how to get better pic? HDR lo I guess.

I made some changes to Adobe Photoshop CS3 colour space. I use Prophoto profile for both Camera RAW and Photoshop itself. Then use "Save for Web and Devices" which I think the photo will be converted to sRGB. However I found no options to control bit depth.
