Dam aVG 8 spoil my windows VISTA!!! ARgH! last night i put my pc to cleaning and scanning mode. When morning i see alot of file infected with virus! which all file was in system32! windows folder right? i didn't see cause just woke up kind blur i delete it.. when i restart my pc.. my desktop can't be prepare normaly-.- have to reformat it ><!!! anyone have this problem b4?

maybe those file that get infected is related to ur system file.thus delete them wil make ur windows corupt/cant start normaly

You shouldn't even be blaming AVG when it's you who deleted the files without checking properly. I'm using AVG 8 on Vista too and have not had such problem before. Did you try System Restore?

Gosh, what is wrong with you people. So an anti-virus scanner did its job and now you're blaming it ? You are the one who deleted those system files. If system files can get infected, that's dead serious - you have either only checked your computer for virusses once a year or perhaps you have never checked your overall Windows Vista security.

I've never heard of such a thing. I have been using AVG for years now and currently using the Free Edition Version 8. It works flawlessly. No problems AT ALL.

AVG did not 'spoil' your Vista. Rethink about it and guess which spoilt which.

Its a matter of how you handle your computer. Some install a dozen applications per day seven days a week. Some, do maintenance (Disk Cleanup, Disk Defragmenter, Virus check, Windows Update) everyday.

Why you don't believe 70 million people are using AVG ? What if I told you I have been using AVG for (checks watch), 5 years ? To prove a point on this, before AVG Version 8, they use to make their previous Professional versions as Free Edition.

E.g If latest AVG Professional Version 7.0, then AVG Professional Version 6.0 is made into AVG Free Edition (albeit with certain features removed).

That was the trend. Now, they are developing seperately.

how to handle the comp?sometimes visit china website already got attacked by virus,it cant even block it.1 example its enough,1 of my msn friend tricked me,send me some script and my comp keep auto restart.after i restore it and change to avast,while installing it already detected its harmful...can you explain this?

I got a problem that I'm not even sure it's a problem. Every time my AVG 7.5 scans, it shows the problem below. Can someone here explain to me why are the files changed & why can't it be fixed.

Don't say "World Best Antivirus"...or another flame war will start....I use Karspersky myself...so far so good. I'll rather spend a little money each year for a paid antivirus than freebies anyday. My privacy and data too expensive to lose.

There'll always be product A can scan X virus and product B can scan Y virus, but none can detect all.

for me kaspersky is more lagging, furthermore i cannot find the key for kaspersky

Use Avast. Did u know that Avg is the one alone can't scan thiz viruz, Locknut. It'z symbian virus. I tried to scan it with three different antivirus. Avg, Avast, Avira. Avast and avira scanned and found it but poor avg can't. So, i choose avast bcoz avast got many security sheild. Network, instant messenging, p2p, and many more. and it's free

RM40 a year expensive?? That's not even RM3 a month!!! That's what it cost for a legit Kasperksy. Somemore free version update during license period also.

Duh, I've been using AVG since version 6 since PCGamer once recommended AVG it use less memory and it's good for gaming. And yeah, I'm using it till today. And the best thing is, the version 8 includes the anti-spyware together. The only thing I dun like the new one is they are not RAM-friendly anymore, but meh, the RAM is fukken cheap nowaday, and the link-scanner function doesn't work properly with Firefox, thus I disabled it.

Meh, Anti-virus is like a condom. No matter what anti virus you use, shit'll happen sometimes.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I'm using Vista too.

Yeah, there's time when AVG 8 detected some of my application as a virus, so I only neeed to put it in the Ignore List. Simple.
