Normally out device are 100base T which is 100Mbps, the B is byte or bit?

100 Mega Byte per second or 100Mega Bits per second.

I was confuse in this 2... any one can give me some explanation.

8bit = 1byte
100Mbps = 100/8 = 12.5MBps
Streamyx 1Mbps = 1/8 = 0.125MBps = 125KBps
SATA 2.0 = 3.0Gbps = 3000/8 = 375MBps

1 mp3 = around 3MB to 5MB ( Is MB oh, not Mb oh...)

The computer files is record in MB oh...not Mb oh...

What do you expect from 1Mbit? Anyway, for normal surfing and video streaming, it's quiet adequate.
You can download 1MByte of file in 8 seconds.

It's only when you try downloading Gigabytes of data that will be slow.

btw, 3G Maxis/Celcom only 384kbps=48kb/s ...Now, THIS is SLOW. (And you'll be lucky to get 30kb/s+).

Bits are usually used for communication while bytes are used for storage.

1Mbps = 1024Kbps = 1048576bps = 131072Bps = 128KBps

Imagine if got 10 Mbps that would be 1280 kBps or 1.25 MBps that would be nice. 700MB file can be downloaded in 10 minutes

that 7kb/sec speed of the 56kbps dialup is just the theoretical max speed of the modem. But what's the chances of anybody actually managing that sort of transfer speeds?

yeah, the best u can get is 5kB/s ... n sumtimes goes to 6kB/s...

well i still remember how i used to download mp3 at 5kB/s... wohoo.. doesnt feel slow to me at that time... but now.. im gonna piss off even the download speed is 30kB/s...
