y i can't burn my cdr? but i can read it... when i check it at properties, the cdr is full. but the cdr still empty. is this about virus? is there any solutions? i need to backup my file before reformat my pc...
asellus
Is that a CDR or a CDRW? If it the latter, you may have to erase it first. If it the former, well, the CDR is full regardless of the contents.
webbie
well.make sure its cd-rw n not cd-r.cd-rw also had certain life span.if really that the case.maybe its ur cd-rw faulty dy
NOKIAIKON
mine is using CDRW driver. but it cannot burn into CDR not CDRW. it not just happen to my pc, also to my laptop DVDRW driver... is this about virus infected?
asellus
Assuming that you have problems with CDR and not CDRW, I just assume that the CDR has problem or both of your writers has failed (unlikely). There are no virus I know that will stop you from writing CDR.

You cant check the CDR / CDRW available space in MyComputer or Windows Explorer as i know.
*Correct me if i'm wrong, just because i had encounted this before, i used Nero Disc Info to check.

There are solution for backup other than CDR...
Either using PenDrive (FlashDrive) or External HDD (2ndary HDD) and more.

Are you using Vista or XP? My Vista disables all CD/DVDr writing programs to solve piracy I assume. So I'm not surprised if an anti-piracy update was done on XP also.

Huh, this a first. How then Nero, ImgBurn and CDBurnerXP works in Vista then? There is no such thing as disabling the likes of Nero, ImgBurn etc because of piracy. Can you show proof Microsoft is doing this?

Sure, go buy Vista & see for yourself. The CD/DVD writing program you mentioned won't install... you can google the info yourself. Vista has a built-in writer software that lets you write files on CDr/DVDr using explorer but you cannot make copies of pirated games/movies discs etc...

I have Vista, and I can run Nero 7, CDBurnerXP and ImgBurn with no problems. Show me proof that Microsoft disabled these kind of programs.

I have Roxio and CDBurnerXP installed on my Vista.

I just sucessfully installed my 'legal' copy of Nero because of this discussion but you have to install the "burning rights" stuff before you can duplicate CD, obviously there was an update to rectify this problem... Let me restate my earlier post: it wasn't possible to install those programs when I purchased Vista last year.

What burning right stuff? Is that Nero BurnRight stuff? That thing is available since Nero 6 days, and has nothing from Microsoft trying to ban disc burning software from being installed in Vista. It was used to allow standard user account to be able to use the CD/DVD writer properly.

Nero 7 has always been usable in Vista since it (Nero 7) was released. Nero 6 (the latest when Vista first comes out) is not compatible with Vista.

Let me restate my rebuttal: Microsoft blocking Nero from being installed is bullsh*t.

You obviously haven't heard about those DRM stuff & why Windows Vista/Long Horn development was terminated a few years later & reprogram from scratch... Ending my discussion here with emotional replier.

I have heard about all those those HDCP/PAP thing, but it has nothing to do with Nero and the likes of them from being installed in Vista. The reason why Longhorn is restarted has nothing to do with DRM. You can't provide proof that support your outlandish claim (that Nero has been blocked from being installed in Vista), and you backed off just like that hahahaha. Do not spout off bullsh*t if you do not know what you are talking about.
