Looking for a nice, spacious BTX casing. Might be running 2 SLi and PhysX. Able to fit in 6 hard disk spaciously + 2 optical drive. Most importantly, must have good airflow.

Budget max RM1k without PSU. Hope it's not too little.

Highly suggest that u get a TJ09, it can fit 6 drives, dedicated mid section air duct just for the display cards but it's not BTX tongue.gif

It's going to be tougher than TJ07 since not all of the TJ09 internals are removable

besides:
air flow, amount of fans it can support, weight, space (expansion of ROMS and HDD).. is there anything i left out?

As a previous owner & the first user of that casing in this forum [or maybe in malaysia laugh.gif ] i would say no.

I used that casing for only 3 month, then sell it back.

The reason?
bad airflow + bad thermal performance. sweat.gif
nazerry
fantagero : aw man, that's my dream case so far. but soooo not cheap! ayyak! sweat.gif

sHawTY : really? blink.gif it got such sweeeeet design!

yellow_label2207 : hey how bout TT big armor then? hehee.. brows.gif

i thinking between stacker 810 @ stacker 830.

Really!!!!?? That's odd. My friend is using the normal Aurora and the airflow is fine. I thought the internal for both Auroras is similar. sweat.gif

a few month back there's some forum discussing regarding this aurora casing (forgot the name's of the forum sweat.gif ).most of the user not satisfy with the casing for same reason: bad thermal dissipation and airflow is not good at all....
kidmad
haha, memang la, the case comes with a few 1200rpm 12cm fanz rite? but then rm4xx rm5xx , therez alot other better choice.

I can't comment much on the 3D aurora 570, but my bro using the original 3D aurora, it has not good ventilation bcoz his graphic card was blowing the hot air towards the HDD, this makes his 3 HDD warm up and the front intake not strong enuf to get it cool sufficiently, but the 2x 120mm exhaust fan does it's job coz with the Zalman CPU cooler, his Pentium D 930 can be cooled to 20C in an airconditioned room, only thing the bottom part of the casing is hot due to the 7800GT blowing all the hot air in.

I think of using the Vizo cooler like the one in Uncle ianho's King Kong II, it should solve some issues with it, or make sure the VGA cooler is blowing the hot air towards the back of the casing.
sHawTY
The main problem about Gaygaybyte 3D Aurora [New model or Old model, it's the same] is about the intake fan.

There's a lot of problem on the intake area.

1) The HDD Bay are facing the sidepanel, which means the direct airflow is blocked by the HDD bay.
2) The HDD bay does have holes in it's wall, but the holes are too small to compare with my LL PC-G7 hdd bay.
3) The airflow is also blocked by the honeycomb as the fan is outside of the honeycomb, not inside. This, creates a turbulence where the air can't go straight into the casing which creates bad airflow.
4) One intake and two exhaust? Bad idea don't you think?

Gaygaybyte should think of a way dealing with this kind of problem.
To those 3D Aurora users, there is a way, you can send your aurora's to ianho and ask him to mod the HDD bay to face the PCI slots so that the airflow could go directly to the GFX and this will result to better airflow. If you want better result, ask the modder to cut a blowhole on that honeycomb, with this, the intake will be much much better as more air can go directly into the casing. To create a better airflow, i suggest putting another 120mm intake blowhole into the casing.
Maybe on the top of the casing?

Just my suggestion though. smile.gif

Still thinking of getting a balanced case (quiet and silent). Have been searching all over the net, and SPCR seems to write the most thorough review about silent computers. However, they 'seemed' a bit biased in their recommendations, or are they not?

Recommendations!

What case should I get?
