Is it weather resistant, such as extremely cold temperatures, as i'm going to further my studies soon and planning to get a good watch... Just want to make sure the temperature does not affect the watch and cause it to malfunction...

All watches standard operating temperature is within -10 to 60. If Casio don't suit your requirement other watches also not in your consideration either.
As long as your are wearing the watch the ambient temperature won't affect much because your body temperature keeping the watch warm.

Sorry to hear that. Next time when you need to change battery service centre is the best place to do that because there are fake batteries circulating in the market it may leak out acid after sometimes then your watch would fails in no time.
