nope . the other valkyrie game is produced by square enix and its different. this game setting is more into the world war mix with anime stuff .

not really a fan of gashapon..
...but the main character does look good...

Sega sent over a friendly reminder that Valkyria Chronicles has an official release date. We’ll get a chance to pick up in English on November 11. I spoke with Christopher Kaminski, Associate Producer of Valkyria Chronicles, to find out if the downloadble content recently released in Japan would find its way to North America. He replied with, “No comment yet.” Kaminski confirmed the content will not be on the retail disc though when he answered my follow up question with, “No, that content won’t be on the disc.” Valkyria Chronicles won’t have any localization differences either. “We translated it directly. We wanted to stay true to the original. As a matter of fact we keep the original Japanese in there.”
Similar to the Fire Emblem series, your characters can permanently die in Valkyria Chronicles. “The way that works is when a character falls you have three turns to get to them and you have to get to them before an enemy unit does,” Kaminski clarified. “If you do that it calls in a medic and you can save your character and bring them out later in a couple of turns. But if you don’t then are gone forever, in the case of main story characters that will end the game.”
Despite what happened at Sony’s E3 press conference Valkyria Chronicles is a PlayStation 3, not a PSP, exclusive. However, at one time Valkyria Chronicles was being considered as an Xbox 360 game. Kaminski tells us, “We had thought about it. At one point in time we did consider putting it on the Xbox, but the change was made for many reasons as a PS3 exclusive.” What are his thoughts about a Valkyria Chronicles side story on the PSP? “Well, you know the response we got from that accidental announcement was very interesting. I’ll have to leave it as that for now.”

just played the demo.. there'S a tutorial and a stage to be played.. nice water color style..but it's not a day 1 purchase for me
its more of a j-strategy-rpg.

I think I fell in love with the demo. Better than Eternal Sonata imho.
not sure u guys heard or not. seems like VC is having an earlier release date (31/10) for PAL territories. does tat mean v can actually get the game earlier? or we still need 2 wait for november?
Played both the trainig and skirmish sention..
Liked the game very much although I really hoped to have a look at it's deeper mechanics (like skills and or magic if there's any)...
It seemed very simple if only shoot and change weapon/class only...
p/s: It'll most probably be a day one purchase for me too...just wanna read 1up.com review first...if it's really good then day 1 if not then I'll but Dead Space first....

Although the top 2 games for me will be LBP and Fallout 3, I'll definitely be getting this and Etermal Sonata. I actually like the Valkyrie graphics/animation style better. But both are just as enjoyable 
yeah i do like the battle system for Valkyria Chronicles, been playing the demo a few times haha.

Guess I'll be getting this once this title hits our retailers. Bad news is that, it'll sure to cost >RM200 as there's only region 1 for this title

Region 2 is japanese right? If it is, region 2 was out quite sometime ago. Currently for English version, there's only region 1 in the pipeline. Region 3 English may be release at a subsequent date but there's no announcement about it.

might consider the r4 seeing how the aud is these days.
If DLC matters to you, which region of the game that you are buying needs to be considered
Played the demo, loved it. The last strategy game I played was an english patched Namco X Capcom.

Definately ordering R1 because R4 or R2 will be just as ridiculously expensive. So for the price I have to pay, I will only get R1.

Definitely understanding your frusfration... after waiting for such a long time just to end up like that. But chill man... the game would eventually reach your hands, it's just the matter of time. Tuesday isn't very far away now... it's less than 24 hours now.

sadly definition of stealing is to take (the property of another) without right or permission.
that game wasn't yours yet. Too bad the salesman didn't do his job properly.
