Nvidia's GTX series soo expensive compare 2 Ati HD4000 series
obviously you didn't read much in this thread.
the new price in Newegg now, GTX260 USD299, GTX280 USD499.
it's not soooo expensive compare to ati hd4000 series now.

Wahaha if the $499 its is equal to 4870 X2 prices.I am sure there will be more price cut on august(including HD 4870 and GTX260,280.)

yeah, RM1k for GTX260 sounds much more reasonable than the initial RM1.3k.

but i still will take HD4870 because most reviews show it's slightly better than GTX260.

Errr guys,
I dun think GTX prices will drop to that level you mentioned. We need to factor in many costs. Some of reasons already mentioned here (see middle of page):
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/728477/+1100Check out the HD4870 vs NVidia links below. Hope that will help you decide better, for those considering ATI 4000 series vs NVidia 9800 & GTX series.

IMO, i think if they dont cut down the price, then situation will be worse. bcoz ppl nowadays always compare the price/performance ratio. and then they will suffer much more coz ppl will turn to the other side that offer much better offerings. the demand will be extremely low for this nvidia product. some said they're exist just to exist coz nobody will buy thier product. really bad news then..
just my 2 cents..

Not to make fire... but nvidia got probs... so there r several questions out there how it would effect the new gtx200 series line. If they really lose too much money they wont be able to pricecut. If they lose way too much money they may wont even be in business long...

NVIDIA Preparing GT300 Graphics Processor? :
http://www.techpowerup.com/65380/NVIDIA_Pr...Processor?.htmlQUOTE
Hardspell reports that NVIDIA may have cancelled working on the G200b (the 55nm version of GT200). Details on this new DirectX 10.1 graphics processor trickled in, it has 384 shader units, uses a 45nm fabrication process and incorporates 1 GB of GDDR5 memory at 4.00 GHz (effective)

Jul 11 2008, 02:24 AM
nvidia cancelled g200b maybe because the gtx200 series was not sufficient to cover up their losses and not enough to take back the market.
they must take a radical step to recover by starting on gt300
