There's plenty of reviews around the net already. Here's the list of all the reviews.

List for GTX280 and GTX260 reviews

GTX280 performs like 8800GT in SLI mode. But it's more expensive.

no, i did't buy it,

but i would prefer a new driver revision for my old geforce 9.. lol

anyway.. i'm speculating that this GTX200 series is a stop gap measure..

expect 55nm process resulting in faster clockspeed, and possibly gddr4 by end of the year.. and dx10.1 enabled???

anyway.. gtx200 is just abt 2 * G92 in a single die...

likito
GT200 for me , over price compare to competitor ... improve thier G80 , increse quantity of stream processing , memory bus etc .....

I read Tomshardware's and Anandtech's reviews, and I must say, this is a joke of a card. Better hope it is driver issues or something. I'm sticking with ATI for the next change if this GT200 still performs as it is.

Since we have some GTX 280 cards with us so we put them together and run some tri-SLI action. We overclocked our QX9650 to 4GHz to remove some CPU bottleneck and the 3DMark Vantage performance preset score scales from P17759 to P21350

the driver definitely need some polish.......
it seams dat SLI (especially 3 way) doesn't quite live up 2 the standard expected.

In anandtech review I am not quite agree with the benchmark. 8800GT SLI does beat GTX280 in some games? shakehead.gif
zonan4
its driver issue i hope... if not im going for ati next gen card
AMDAthlon
I guess its driver issue.Same goes with ATi?
Becos HD 4850 Crossfired can already on par with GTX 280 = =.
chickenducksoup
really not impress me.
some game 9800GX2 still beat GTX280

toughnut
are we heading for dark ages? lol

based on the benchmark, all are at 1600x1200 or higher resolution. i'm still eating dust at 1280*1024. guess a upgrade to 8800GT sufficient for me biggrin.gif
gstoh
gtx200 is not efficient, what a let down =.=
i can accept 9800gx2 beat gtx280 since 9800gx2 has 2 cores compare to gtx280 which has only 1 core..
but the efficiency of gtx2800 let me down.. =.=
basically,2x 9800 chip to combine together and some tweaks only = gtx200 =.=
i would expect the ati 4k to do better in term of efficiency
Demonic Wrath
GTX200 is efficient, but it's expensive and not worth the price.

2x 9800GTX also has 2 cores if compared to GTX200. It's basically the same as 9800GX2. Don't forget that GTX280 can use 3-way SLI, which is basically 3x 9800GX2 or 6x 9800GTX.

efficient?
the power comsumption is more or less the same with 9800gx2..
just that it is able to go lower voltage when it is at idle
apart from that, based on the reviews, GTX200 is noisy le..more noisy than the 9800gx2 when it is under full load due to the fan need to cold down the gpu unsure.gif
it does not support DX10.1 =.= ..
if it is less heat and less power comsumption, it will be good,
perhaps it is driver problem causes the performance to be not so good?

expensive is another issue, haih .. for performance/price better go for 9800gx2.... or see how ATI gonna perform with its 4000 series

based on nvidia website.. minimum requirement of 550W PSU is needed to run this GTX280 and 500W PSU for GTX260

You can't, you need 8pin+6pin connector to run GTX280.

i saw the crysis performance is like near to 9800GTX only le.. 3dmark06 score also some where there.

QUOTE
When it comes to performances nVIDIA is once again „the king of the hill“. Every game we tried was playable even at largest resolutions like 2560x1560 with AA and AF. Everything except of course, Crysis which couldn’t run perfectly smoth on maximum resolution with AA and AF enabled. But every other game isn’t a problem for GTX280. The final verdict for this card is simple: it’s new, it’s no doubt the best SingleGPU card today, and it will satisfy even the most hardcore gamers for whom this card is intended for. You are probably wondering when will we explain the part with G70 and 71? Well, if you want the best graphics card right now, and you have enough money (around 550€) you should go and buy nVIDIA GeForce GTX280. If you are one of those who will find this product to expensive and wont buy it just because of that (despite you actualy can) rest assured that nVIDIA GeForce GTX280 is geat product. Of course you can always wait for „G71“ (as it was case with G70) version of GTX280 that will be produced in smaller production process, with less power consumption and lower price.

http://www.insidehw.com/Reviews/Graphics-c...280/Page-4.html

for me i still dun think its worth to get this card...

i've comeup with my own version of review:

Okay... lets look at the Main character here...
ZOTAC GTX280 1G

well, ZOTAC comes with their identical orange color boxing, and their avatar the "IRON MAN"

Had the box opened up, here comes the components...

something caught my attention.. GRID! BY CODEMASTER!!! drool.gif

And now it's the time for the " 主角" come out! TADA~~ the Graphic card cool2.gif
user posted image
Well~ nothing special. A cooler which black in colour(NVIDIA STYLE icon_rolleyes.gif )
but, for your information, thsi Graphic card length 28.5CM.. you can make it 29CM whistling.gif

user posted image
Look into the Fan it uses, 80mm blower fan. Herm.. it should be pretty silent... perhaps (not full load off course)

lets look at the side of the GC,
user posted image
you'll realise the card is quite thick. It's 40mm thickness sweat.gif

and, the back...
user posted image

output.
user posted image
It comes with dual DVI output + S-Video out. There is an indicator LED on the left side of the hot air exhaust

Well.. It's Power time
user posted image
This graphic card need 1 x 6Pin + 1 x 8Pin PCIE power input.
Generally, this card needs 40A of power.. So, do your PSU able to whistand the requirement?
easy, take ur calculator and count yourself smile.gif

the MSRP for this Graphic card is around RM2490

The performance of GTX280 is very dissapointing for me bcoz it's performance is comparable to 9800GX2 which is about RM200 cheaper. Early rumours suggest that it will beat 9800GX2 by a large margin but the benchmarks told otherwise. Still, It is a great card and recommended for extreme gamers. If u don't have the money, just buy the GTX260 which is only 18% slower than the GTX280 and 45% cheaper too. skcs1985 is selling GTX280 for someone looking ti buy it.
