Currently my laptop suddenly hangs and sometimes got BSOD. I suspect the hard disk is the problem because my friends told me that he heard some weird noise coming out from my hard disk when he using it.

Can you guys tell me which software to use to check the health of our hard disk? I need it urgent because my laptop warranty ends this 23 may . 2 weeks ago i changed the dvd drive.

p/s: I am using vista home premium by the way

use software sandra , everest
lastly use windows option type at run
compmgmt.msc
click under disk managament

try to check healty or not..

for my experience if ur hdd got sound..
better backup n replace

u can try "HDD life pro" but it is not free. U can c your hdd life in percentage and also show u how many hours is your hdd used.

or if ur modo support SMART status detection, it will display some warning message if ur hdd is going to kong.

hi there. the weird thing is,ive check my hdd status and it shows healthy but in other way sometimes,theres few cracking sound.

IM having the same problem too.The sound sure from HDD?coz i tot its from my processor...haha..stupid me...
Im using toshiba,so if i take to warranty,will they change new 1 for me?

zzz.last time my laptop HDD also hv some weird sound ,after few days and spoil.better go warranty earlier
