I came across Cooler Master coming out with 90cfm fans and 19 dBA. Is this real? Any users comment?

How was the performance, in terms of silence when compared to other cooler master fans? Is it really 19db or the minimum noise? Got typhoon noise happening in your rig? Hehehe
P.S: Are you selling this?

i think the db rate is not accurate, may be it's measure from far away, but 90CFM can be achive with 2000 rpm.

Is it really that good?
19dba for 90cfm at only RM35? Even Scythe fans, which are known for the good dba and performance ratio cost at least RM50 in msia.

That's what i am thinking. Too good to be true! If this thing for real, then all of the current fans in the market will be replaced by this beauty.

Hopefully some users can inform us, whether this fan does perform and yet being silent as being mentioned.

It's fake.
There's no way a 120MM fan running at 2000RPM able to produce 90CFM while only producing 19dBA of noise.
Unless the tester put the noise detector far far away from the fan, then that's another story, but that would be cheating.

tis fan only moves around 65+CFM, but silencer then those evercool 2000rpms... which move around same cfm.. if compare with my panaflo side by side, u can feel cm fan is weaker... my panaflo fan rated 83cfm...
so in the end i still feel tht tis fan quite worth since its silencer then vizo and evercool fans... and also looks unique...

Yup, as you rightly said, even if it doesn't push 90cfm, it's still a good choice as it has the bling factor with not too bad performance.
However, i have been hearing stories of CM fans using low quality Leds. Leds kaput after 2 months of usage.

+1 and I do agree that the fans are
over-rated. It doesn't make sense to have 90cfm with 19dBA as even the Scythe fans produce more sound and lower cfm's.

There's already a review done in VR-Zone (which doesn't look very positive) so maybe you can search around there

Just read the forum being mentioned. Summary:
1)Not as quiet as being mentioned if all fans run at 2000rpm
2)If put a lot of these fans=noisy
Recommendation: Install fan controller

Agree with xen0 also. It could be the Hyper212 fans. My friend who managed to get this fans recently said it was quiet but cfm definitely NOT 90! Anyway, worth to try!

but still, if 19dba @2k rpm and producing 69 cfm in reality is still good, even if it's not 90cfm...

the papst's fan running nice... but currently using the CM fan on my radiator... trying tis CM fan, the airflow higher then the papst... now finding a DC voltage converter which can step up the voltage to around 17-20v...i think the papst fan shall shine at tht voltage since its 24v fan... u got any idea of getting those DC voltage converter? stepping up the voltage from 12v to around 15-20v...

How can the led version pushes so much air than the non-led version? The non-led version only pushes near 70CFM.

May 21 2008, 09:52 AM
70cfm also ok what... cheap fan. u pay peanuts u get monkey la. the issue that they put wrong claim is, maybe because they measure the cfm by putting the 120mm fan spinning in front of a table fan, so the fan's real output + kipas meja = 90cfm.
