busta_dude selling a delta gila kipas 190cfm... the *thingie behind the blade* (dunno what to call em) is curved as to create turbulence, hence the extra high cfm and extra excruciatingly annoying whining (or whooshing? u decide) sound.
btw, i got 2 of those 90cfm fans. and i feel i need another one...

The thing is, there's no such thing as 90CFM at 20dB.

It ok lor for the price about the same as another CM silent fan...I have four of these and mount in my Centurion 590. The air quite a lot compare to normal silent fan and also silent my rig hardly can be heard after on with ceiling fan on. Planning on getting another 2 of these...Even not @90CFM, it quite satisfying for me....Cheers...

this particular cm fan is used in hyper212.. must be no other... well i also think that its impossible to generate 90cfm with such silence... and also so cheap.. i dont vbelieve this thing la. the 212 fanruns at most at 70cfm. and that too i dont believe it.. Yup, as you rightly said, even if it doesn't push 90cfm, it's still a good choice as it has the bling factor with not too bad performance.
However, i have been hearing stories of CM fans using low quality Leds. Leds kaput after 2 months of usage.

You heard it right. Two of my CM led fans lost 1 led each

and it's only been 3 months. Donno abt the quality of this new fan. Tempted to buy one tho

just installed 3 of this 90cfm fans into my 3D aurora case and also changed the stock hsf to Hyper212 with its 1 default fan configuration.
with these 4 fans blasting at full speed, it still ain't silent as i hope it to be. probably when all adds up, the noise increases too...
but cfm wise, it's much much higher then the 3 gigabyte fans that case with the casing although i dont know if it's truly 90cfm as claimed

Has anyone tried dismantling the leds? Since no one brings in the normal black 1.
dARKaNGEl
Jun 23 2008, 09:44 AM
dismantle? u dont want the led is it?
i noticed that even without hooking the fan to the power, when u spin the blades, u can see it generating the lights. i guess it's using some sort of dynamo/kinetic power to light up the led... maybe this way is consumes less power from the mobo

Couldn't agree more. It's not 90CFM though plus it ain't that silent. The airflow wasn't that bad so don't get me wrong but it ain't 90CFM. And it is not that silent as it runs at 2000rpm.
More or less I'd say that it's a good buy for those wanting silent fan with good airflow with an additional bling. For the price, the CM fan satisfy me enough and I just love the bling better than any other CM or Silverstone LED fans just because of the subtle lighting it provides. Not too bright nor too dim.

yup it aint silent. maybe if i only have 1 then it might be silent but now i have 3 in 1 casing so nope, not silent enough ahaha.
my original gigabyte fans were more silent since it runs at max 900 rpm which makes the cfm sux like hell...
led isnt as bright but that's nice for me. no need too bright hehe

Haha, true enough. I love this fans LED too. Kinda cool. I've all the 4 fans running and surely it's not silent as you said. I also tested with only 1 fan and surely my previous Silverstone LED fan is quieter. But the Silverstone fan runs at 1200rpm and this CM long life fan runs at 2000rpm. So as you've mentioned before, it ain't dead silent but for the amount of air it pushes, the fan does a pretty good job I'd say.

fm123 is a model, silverstone fm123 . . . but definite fm123 is better, freakin high rpm but noise also a killer . . . its rm 69 for 1, cm 90cfm is only rm 30-35 one.

I've Silverstone FM123 and used FM92 before as well. FM123 trumps the CM fan hand down. No doubt or argument bout it.
First, the FM123 has higher rated speed which can be adjusted as you wish with the adjustable contoller.
Second, the FM123 will boost higher CFM along with higher speed been adjusted.
In conclusion and from my personal experience. The CM fan does pushes air and you can actually feel the air flowing if you're using it as an exhaust fan. But if wanna compared to Dual-ball bearing, high quality build, adjustable speed FM123, the FM123 is one of the best fan with high CFM's that no doubt push a hell lot of air.
