Any 1 here can guide me that how i going to record another Astro channel with a VCR while i watching a difference channel as i 1 to record. I having a Sony VCR and using normal TV tuner, I able to record TV2 while i watching TV3. The channel is stored in the VCR. When i 1 to record TV2 i need to change to channel using the VCR remote.

Am i able to do the same thing to astro without astro MAX? Help pls.

AFAIK, i think cannot cos VCR records the output of the decoder.
so if you are watching TV2, the output of the decoder is TV2 signal.
unless the decoder has multiple outputs then you can set TV3 as the other output.
but this also depends on decoder's OS.
well, i might be wrong on this.

Yeah, you will need Astromax if you want to record other Astro channel while watching another Astro channel.

My simple solution:

You do the following connection:

1. decoder to VCR using RF cable
2. decoder to TV using RCA cable
3. normal antenna to TV using RF cable

Now you may alternate between Astro and free terresterial on your TV by switching TV/AV on your TV remote control.

All the while the VCR receive signal from Astro decoder, so you may record any channel you want on Astro. If you want to see other channels (TV1 to TV9), just swith to free terresterial mode on your TV.
