#1 and #2 - I can't see the face. Underexposed on my monitor

For last picture, I would suggest to use 2 additional flash gun, one on umbrella as the main flash to light up a bit on the face. While the other shooting from back and focus on her fair to get more 3D looks...

If you have prettier gal to shoot and wish to have a company, you can let me know

same here.. abit under exposed.. face also cannot see..
but if u point a gun on my head and force me to choose.. i pick number 1... without the gun pointing.. i say.. both also cannot be front cover..

Anyway...I'd pick #1... but it's underexposed. You need artifical lighting to enhance the image.

Well... I can't get another girl for the cover page, because that's her book about herself. It would be weird to have someone else posing as her.

I pick #2 because its more feminine (the way she posed). And I also feel what soulfly feel. I see boobs everywhere......

This which also need to be considered when posing for the cover:
- Whether she's naturally quite cheerful or serious person.
- Does she play basketball? If not better leave out the basketball ring.
- Theme for the book...Melancholic? Fancy? Serious? Dark?

for me..
boobs are fine...mighty fine i might say...
but for the cover...
how about u take another shot....the same as number 3...but without any background?
also frame the subject so she is either on the left or right...not center...
then the empty area...can be used for i dunno title maybe? or some captions?

I'd prolly still pick the original picture (you've posted that in B&W). Prolly reshoot it with less clutter in the background (less trees).

#1 - I'll agree with what the others have said cause it was the first thing that I noticed too.

#2 - Face is definitely underexposed. It's okay to underexpose the sides or back, but if you're going to show the full frontal face, try to have some exposure there.

#3 - Your fun pic is actually not too bad.. just that the basketball net needs urgent fixing.

From a reader point of view.

I will pick #1.
You may want to consider remove the basket ball hoop. Just the girl and the blue sky. How about that?

Among all these series no 1 seems okay compared to the rest, but i felt the compo is not effective to elaborate about someone's story.

No 2 compo is ok, but i dont get it on why u make it very underexpose. Make it b&w should be enough.

Sorry to disappoint you guys. My name is Joyce and I'm a guy. Mr. goldfries knew because we met in an event before. Thanks for the offer though, but I rather do it myself without relying too much on photoshop. Need to learn learn and practice and learn more.

About the underexposed issue... I didn't purposely do so. Exposure setting I left it at 0. When I first took the photo it looked fine on the camera's LCD screen. I guess I'm suppose to raise the exposure when I'm having bright sunlight as background?

Will attempt more tomorrow morning. Still a student, plenty of time to spend in the morning.

if u dun want the subject to be underexposed when against the light...
spot meter the subject...
or u could do a combination of exposure...
first shoot with the sky correctly expose...
next shoot with the subject properly exposed...
then combine using PS...
or if u have a flash at hand...
u can do some fill in...=)
