Guys, need to ask u all something. Since most of u know that I am going for a management trainee position in the near future, so I wanna ask u guys the career path from that starting point.

I understand I'll be rotated for 2 years in different departments, and then once that period is done, I'll be placed in the department best suited for me. The question is, in that department, what would normally be my starting post?

I've heard of senior executive, senior manager, assistant manager. But kind of blur what I will normally get.

That depends on your experience and performance that you gained while working as a trainee.

Two years should probably net you a senior executive position.

Well, if they have an opening for you, sure. Isn't it more important to have a higher salary than a better sounding position?

As long as the renumeration is appropriate, who cares what they call you?

For me, i see a job as a way to improve the business of that corporation. In other words, bringing in money for them. I don't find joy chasing so much money, because even if u own 10k a month, ur still gonna have to pay taxes for it sadly. And taxes are alot. Not to mention for my case, Zakat also. But Zakat is very minor.

I feel that I should get a job where it boils down to a balance of enjoyment and renumeration of that job. There's no point for me to chase a high ranking position if all i want to do is chase money. I shud find something i love to do, and then get compensated for the work that i do that i feel is worth it. I believe that is lesser stress for u and you know those times spent from 9 to 5 will be much worth it.

@kyo - work a couple of years then u will realise money is better than position.......besides ur zakat is tax deductable....so u pay less tax compared to others....

I noe. As a guy, u need to give this lah, that lah. Responsibilities mah? Owh yeah, i forgot that zakat can potong taxes. haha.

Its like this, in a few years time, I hope that I could try to meet certain satisfactions that people want. My gf is very demanding, but I know she is willing to help me out with that. Imagine by the age of 25, u already have a 2 storey corner lot with 5 bedrooms on it, and 2 cars. Plus with furnishings. I'm just abit scared on that part, considering that jobs are normally on fixed income. I know not about bonuses also, which shows how lacking is the experience I know about working.

But I can say that i don't want to be like all the fresh graduates that come out from uni, all want aircond jobs and high paying but don't want to work for it. I've read before that a graduate from MMU got a job in US, high paying also. But tak tahan the job because too much work for it. Heh.
