Aiyish: Kewl.... then you've got some experience already. I would recommend two books that have helped me tremendously in my budding career as a voiceover talent and emcee. The first is The Art of VoiceActing by James Alburger, and The Vocal Advantage by Jeffery Jacobi. The former book helps you to understand that whenever you speak or do a VO, you're actually acting out a role and the latter book does wonders for helping people brought up with Malaysian English and have some bad pronunciation habits (I've got a problem with THs and swallowing the ends of words - unless I happen to speak to a white, in which case, my problems seem to disappear)

Soon I'll post my work up on youtube/myspace/facebook/multiply so that anyone can have a quick sample of my work. The Voiceover field is quite an exciting field and the great thing is, it's a more supportive field where people are usually willing to share what they've learnt to everyone else.

Cool. You guys are also giving me encouragement in some sense as the video game market in Malaysia is something I've wanted to break into for quite awhile. However, I couldn't see a way past competing with the pirates. Was thinking that the next-gen consoles would be piracy free and now it's only the PS3 that's piracy free in our shores.

Seeing you guys take a plunge into this (and also seeing how Bernard's & Djinn's shops are holiding out well) is giving me hope that someone like me could find a niche in the market as well.

I don't see piracy as a stop on how people want to buy games. Even the fact that not having a large amount of capital didn't stop neither of us to really start doing this. So, why not eh? hehe. IF you've got the money, go for it.

@ corez, trust me I am also as scared as anyone can be. But, if you don't take the plunge, how would you know deep is the sea? If you believe you won't drown, then why should you have to tell yourself to give up from swimming and die?

If I managed to get into investment banking, make sure you grab the opportunity to ask me for leads on how to start your own business. We all may have our own goals in life, but doesn't mean we can't help each other to provide.

I am the type that is really not into makan gaji one. I really hate to be doing a job, and I love meeting new people and doing new deals. That's where investment banking and business is for me.

My long term goal is to set up my own shop, and bring in official presence of the 3 console makers (and maybe more to come). Though I'm doing this with Aiyish, I know he would like to venture onto his own path. So, we'll see how things go the first 2 years of the business itself. I see franchising and official presence already.

Tell that to the GF, since she's putting emotion into the words (she's a linguist btw. haha. And I think she'll see this post of mine and kill me) I'll post up the prices soon in my blog. Thanks dude for the suggestion.
