This writing thing is just another side thing

It doesn't include 'Singer' coz I already sing with an acapella group called 'Six2Eight' and I'm really not that great as an individual - have to stick to old type songs by singers with a deep voice like Frank Sinatra & Perry Como.

Voice acting? Well I've been fairly regularly sending auditions online through the Voice Actors Alliance. Haven't gotten anything yet but I'm still practising the art of voice acting so its a field I'm looking to break into. As they say, even actors still take acting classes now and then to hone their art.

At least there is such an organization. Well, wanna try out too. hehe.

hwo bout radio ads? I want to get into radio voice talent man.. Those ppl haul in crap load of cash per session of 2 hour

Well, I'm really really keen on the voice over business so I dove in to find resources and at least now I've got quite a few resources. The Voice Actors Alliance forum is a great place to practise and send auditions to people.

Rev: For radio ads? Mostly about connections... I haven't been able to break into it yet. The money alright if you can get regular jobs going but the industry rate is about RM300 for up to 5 minutes of voice over. And the rate for shorter voice overs is about RM10 per second. I think guys like patrick teoh get RM30 and above per second. Radio ads rarely cross the 30 second mark.

And actually, there's quite a bit of work involved for that 2 hour period. It would take me that long to do about four voiceover jobs of about 5 minutes though at present, I average about 30 minutes of work per voice over job that's 5 minutes and under.

Yeah i know, normally i will demand various tone and intonation from the talent but those good talent got it right on the 3rd or 4th time and the job is done in 1 hour. the other 1 hour is left for me to deal with selecting the right part for the right tone to make into one radio ad

eh find me la.. i got good voice.. ROFL
