Hi bibg, vpn/socks5 does improve and smoothen your connection but in terms of online gaming it wont help much, but it does help especially p2p or web surfing.

for socks5 - only certain application that require internet access will route through our server(e.g: p2p)
for vpn - all application that require internet access will route our server
