what is the difference between nikor and tamron and sigma ?
is there any difference ?
razuryza
brand kot? hahahah
theanswerL2
tamron and sigma is third party lens
but for budget user can prefer it.
they can snap a quality picture also..
timothyy
The major difference is the brand. Nikkor lenses are made solely for Nikon cameras. So, they are so called optimised for Nikon Cam.

As for third party, they are made to suit to every camera...

But... in terms of performance, usually you see many prefer the Nikkor lens compared to third party. Even in terms of performance. But the major issue is the build quality.

I'd say, have the extra bit of money and don't want to regret? Get Nikkor lenses.
Budget tight but still want to buy the lens? Get third party. But make sure do a lot of reading before buying it.
cjtune
There's also the issue of quality differences WITHIN a brand, for example one Sigma 105mm macro may be slightly softer than another 105mm macro.

Although even the big name camera makers also has variations within a same lens family, but it seems to be more likely for 3rd party brands. Do test it them thoroughly on-the-spot. Variations in quality affect the sharpness and focusing accuracy of a lens - the two most noticeable aspects.

Some brands may let you bring back your sub-par lens for calibration, like this Sigma owner had to do (but kudos to Sigma for the support):

u might need to specify difference in wat way?? quality? build? price?

the major difference i see straight away now is the spelling!
N-I-K-K-O-R
S-I-G-M-A
T-A-M-R-O-N
whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

but anyway whistling.gif ...wat the other say earlier are mostly true wink.gif
wlcling
sigma & tamron dents your wallet but Nikkors just rips apart it.

Quality-wise then the pricier one wins, although twice the price doesn't necessarily mean twice the quality.
soulfly
whatever u use, you are carrying its brand name.

you can't get anymore proud using a nikkor lens with Nikon camera... hence why professional don't use 3rd party for their tasks. but they would probably have 3rd parties for hobby/past-time use.

Not really le...

Last time I let my Tamron SP90 vs Canon 100 macro (non-USM version) vs Nikon 105 macro. Surprising at f2.8, Tamron beat both Canon & Nikon at border sharpness!!!

My friends that tend me thier Canon and Nikon version were shocked looking at the results also... shocking.gif sweat.gif

But anyway, the slow and keep hunting autofocusing from Tamron might shorten your life... laugh.gif

And the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 perform surprisely nice on Nikon le.... thumbup.gif

third party brand might not be very reliable...my friend's UWA 10-20mm use JUN JUN 1 year the whole lens kong edi... coating gone everything rosak...
empire23
Like Xandman said, depends on what optics and what 3rd party brand.

Zeiss, Schneider, Leica, Voigtlander and gang often build lenses which are better than ori brand ones and are often far more expensive brows.gif. All in all it depends on what 3rd party you're talking about.

That could be because your friend was really unlucky. I've use quite a number of 3rd party lenses for years and no issues with them, so do my friends smile.gif

One thing the Nokton is has it the AI-S CPU comm functionality which the Zeiss doesn't which allows for metering. Huge boon if you ask me.

The Topcor design looks very much like the original Planar if you ask me. But then again the Planar is the basis for the world sharpest prime lenses and the only other design that comes close is the Summicron at f2.0 due to it's 6 element and 4 groups, but it's limited by it's F value. If you're mad, you can get a near mint copy of the legendary Super Takuma, Good luck, because i'd pay good money for copies of those babies too tongue.gif

Can anyone tell why my Nikkor Kitlens and 50mm 1.8D shot at low speed outdoor during nite, all light in the picture got nice star.
But my siggy and tammy cannot have that, why?

even the 105VR is like that...sometimes...makes u feel like throwing the lense and getting a 100/2 Zeiss...which is fully manual! brows.gif
