thats samsung monitor, the one i previously used which is grainy
nope i told him i got the part number on the phone but he say he will ship whatever thats in stock,u cant ask for a specific brand, anyways i might get a replacement since they cant solve the whine, they say they will call me tommorow,if they give me a replacement i would ask them to swap the screen if i get samsung lcd again laugh.gif
*

I guess high pitch noise is not a problem but as per design since your motherboard also changed.
I guess as a good will, dell will only replace all the related part for you but not for whole unit replacement which is cannot 100% solve too... if they replace, definitely will get the samsung again if the original order is samsung. sweat.gif sweat.gif

hi guys. i am in a dilemma between xps1530 and the inspiron counterpart. Now they have promotion for xps1530 in which they give free 9cell battery upgrade. How much does the 9cell battery cost previously?

actually the high pitch sound i still able to tolerate but after they change the fan, there is another constant sound coming from my speaker area now,and this is not the typical whine which worries me,still waiting for dell to call though,if the replacement is a samsung i would ask them to send a technician to swap with my current LG lcd,i dont think it will be a problem smile.gif

guyz i just order my xps and i've upgraded my 6-cell to 9-cell for free.. smile.gif

in your scenario maybe better, at least can detect the TV but just no display on the TV. just to configure as extend desktop (usually clone desktop wont work as our notebook screen and TV are totally different resolution support), set the lowest screen resolution for both. good luck. try update video driver also, ignore the shortcut key for Fn+F8.

Thanks for the tip, will try it later.

Yeah, but that's after the Korea battery factory was burnt down, causing shortage of lithium-ion batteries used in laptop computers resulted in higher battery pack prices.
If I'm not mistaken, it used to be about RM 100 for the 9 cell upgrade...

Your 4GB RAM you purchase directly from DELL or you yourself purchase and install it. Your RAM is 800Mhz but as I know, DELL only offer 667Mhz RAM.

lol actually the technician wasnt as reckless as i thought he is,anyways the next service would be tommorow, someone is coming over again to check on my high pitch sound problem and a newly form sound on the speaker part, and also replace the bracket on the side of the panel, was loose after he took my laptop apart, apparently the technician says our xps isnt as durable as inspiron model because some of the parts like the screen bezel only uses clip and not screws

Your laptop is exactly the same as mine.Mobo died, then, they screw up the black panel and replaced it.Then, palm rest problem but i just leave it.

A little bump in the middle isnt that bad, compare to dead mobo.

Most likely it's a software problem.Dont think this is the correct place to ask.Vista have all sorts of weird errors.
kapitan
Why so many of you guys changed mobo anyway?

seems like the xps series suffer a lot of mobo problem. Everyone is advising against buying xps series over inspiron due to this

I think the whining sound is due to one of the inverter's problem. The technician didnt put it correctly.baowen used to have this problem too,if im not wrong.

I know the palmrest can be replaced but i dont want. After they come to fix something, then, spoil something else.

Yup, I purchased the RAM myself and installed it, since it's much cheaper in Low Yat, and it doesn't void the system's warranty. Still thinking if I should sell the old one tho...

No,it's more like the initial batch's design problem.

Honestly, the laptop is not as hot as other people say.I can play Sins on almost max,10 players and it's still doesnt feel hot.Other games also like that.

No cooling pad or what so ever.

So after all your problems, do you still think you will be buying another Dell?
Im just curious..

I guess Im not the choosy type which explained why my 2007WFP still here with me...

after a long fight, finally i got LG screen for my M1530!! rclxms.gif

LG (LPL0301) vs Samsung (SEC3358)

1. sharper with zero grains!!
2. much much more brighter and higher contrast
3. better colour reproduction (no need to tweaks so much at Nvidia Control)
4. wider viewing angles

Dell should put and use this screen in M1530 from the beginning sad.gif

with LG screen my M1530 is perfect and now i'm very happy blush.gif

Is it the screen resolution is (1440x900)? My current selling M1530 come with this resolution but no option to customize on web.

my screen is WXGA (1280 x 800). jason111785 (one of the new M1530 users here) has WXGA+ screen but he report that he got the Samsung.
last time if you order WXGA+, high possibility you will get an LG.
now it looks like all type resolutions will be ship with Samsung screen.

regarding my new LG screen, although i set the brightness to 30% it still brighter than my old Samsung screen!!

I know Dell is very good with their service, but wouldnt you prefer to have a trouble free unit instead of having to change it every now n then?
