Hello experts out there...are there any side effects cause by swimming during night time, specifically 8-10PM??..
benzene88
No worries..
I use to train from 8.30pm to 10.30pm.
butterflydarling
urm last night i went swimming from 12.30 am till 2 am.
youngkies
i used to swim at midnight too.

just make sure you don't catch cold.
goldfries
no problem wan la. i swim at night too.

heck in the end i decide to do it in the morning, like around 8am or so, the pool will have less people and temperature wise it's WAY cooler.
skymyxe
Nite is nice but I usually prefer morning too. As goldfries stated, less people and usually there's no people at all. That's where I can enjoy my swim without those usually annoying people only making noise and mess around in the pool instead of swimming.
jcvstlys
Will got side effects? I swim at night sometimes too
Vint
I don't think will have any side effect but the water temp will be lower than usual
pizzaboy
There is a side effect.

It's called, "Brrrrr....bloody hell it's colder outside than inside the water"
kianweic
A lot of Aussies swimming during cold weather.

They are still pretty healthy.

Check out the beach during Spring and Autumn.

BlackKri

skymyxe
There is a side effect if you swim frequently at nite though. You'll become a healthy person as swimming is a very good exercise. tongue.gif

Don't think so I always shower after clubbing or going to karaoke (it's usually after midnight), I don't think have gotten sick yet because the shower.

More likely to get sick from overconsumption of alcohol.

I think the only thing you should not do is to jog outdoors when it's less than 10c. Tried that in Melbourne on the track, felt terrible.

what's the credibility of those people? or at just referring to cooler water?

FYI many pools close at 10pm, heck even swimming pool at fitness centers close at 10pm. so clearly swimming at night is not an issue.

swimming at wrong time of the day could be bad also, like say when the sun is hot. smile.gif

for me, anytime between 7am to 11am and 6pm onwards, cos less hot. i tried before swimming when the sun is hot. biggrin.gif later got slightly burned. tongue.gif

on yeah man. some people just don't know how to see that people are doing laps.

i hate when my laps get interrupted. tak shiok la k, swim half way then some bunch of kids yikityakking away and suddenly cross your path.......
spartacvs
I doubt if there is any side-effect from swimming at night.
Less people – less distraction – less interruption.
More freedom – more cooler – more relaxing.
kenken85
I guess no side effects because I usually do that.. but you can catch cold easily..

Yeah I did that in Melbourne in early spring too, it's fine. Alot of people jog in winter, I have friends in Sweden who jog/run outdoors in winter, and Sweden is COLD in winter. It just takes a little time for your body to adjust to the cold.

Heck, I used to walk around in the city when I'm so bored, small town thou. From 1am till 4am, not sure how many miles or walking to the beach at 3am. It's safe. I definitely got some mental problems. It's good feelings btw.
BlackKri
swimming at the beach at night might be daring and fun thing to do thumbup.gif
IanBen
Haha, yes it does, I used to do it as well, just the shore, don't dare to go down over till my thigh, ALONE, not over 12 am tongue.gif

Swimming at night shouldn't have any problem..
But during hot afternoon might cause some issue, this is what I heard from other people:
During afternoon, the water temperature will be higher especially the small pool at some condo.. Because some bacteria might still active in the water.
I didn't research any info about this, just someone came to told me that.. sweat.gif
