LG finally revealed the mysterious LG KF300 - a name tag that surfaced not long ago without any further information available. As it turns out, the LG KF300 is the GSM variant of the CDMA-only LG SV300 Wine phone.
The LG KF300 (be it Wine or not) is obviously targeted at the more... mature part of the population much like the original LG SV300. The name "Wine" comes from the "Wine Generation" (remember last time you set the alarm clock for your parents?). Its buttons, characters and speakers are twice the size of conventional phones making pressing, looking and hearing especially easy. It has even been awarded at the Ergonomic Design Awards event held annually by the Ergonomics Society of Korea.
With large alphanumeric keys and hardware shortcuts for the most frequently used features, the LG KF300 is not loaded with high-end features, but then again, it's not meant to be the next do-it-all multimedia device. And it's certainly the most feature-rich handset optimized for the elder customers that we've seen so far.
The LG KF300 is relatively large but compensates with a large 2.2-inch internal TFT display with QVGA resolution and the spacious keypad. Below the display there are four dedicated shortcuts for accessing Alarms, Organizer, Phonebook and Favorites.
The unique external surface hides a secondary 1.3-inch TFT display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. The LG KF300 is also equipped with a 2 megapixel camera, a microSD memory card slot, FM radio and will run under a proprietary LG Flash-based user interface.
The LG KF300 will be available in black and pink. Availability and pricing are still not known.

KF300 now common in LG counters at Sg Wang, Pyramid, etc but not at mixed brand shops. Friend who needs large fonts got one today in LYP. Black, maroon, gold, pink available. Very sharp display and hidden external screen in a good looking package, enough features not to be purely basic. Stylish choice for stubborn people to replace old favourites.
They first quote list price RM$599 but easily drop 100 or more if you forego the micro-card. Previous mail here said $470 in Kuching, dunno w/wo card.

External OK shows phone numbers and time, number of msgs, in L A R G E fonts!
Overall pretty stylish replacement phone for technophobes who prefer basics and slight upgrading. About the same price as the older phone it is replacing but sleek design and many more features.
