Hi all photography enthusiasists,

I compare Canon powershot A570IS and digital IXUS 70...both are having similar specs EXCEPT A570 IS with additional focal.

Can i know how this focal helps in photoshot? I plan to get a camera for taking moving objects as well.

Kindly share your knowledge.

Many thanks

The A570IS comes with Image Stabilization which denotes the IS while IXUS70 doesn't.

If you want to have more control over your camera and photos, go for powershot A570is and if size and design matters, go for IXUS 70. These are their biggest difference.

I got a A570IS because it's my secondary camera if I am not using my Nikon D80 dslr. It offers me sufficient manual settings.

what does it mean by focal length? what can be benefited from this additional feature?

I'll vote for 570is. Mainly because of more control of the camera. Has optical image stabilizer. Better gripping and cheap. My gf using one

if u want ultracompact, go 4 ixus 850is or 860is. Solid built made in japan. Got image stabilizer and most importantly wide angle

Focal length is the ability to zoom. The higher the focal length the further you can zoom.

If a focal length is less than 30mm on a Point and shoot camera, it is consider wide. So good for group shots.

>100mm can zoom far. Good for landscapes.

The 570is is 35-140mm and Ixus 70 is 35mm - 105mm.

So both same can do as wide. But the 570is can zoom a lil further.
