The media converter is not expensive, it's the drop fiber(the one which is pulled into your home) that is.
A good media converter should not even cost you more than RM500 in bulk.

This is not even needed if you live in an apartment, it is taken care of with the switch located in the riser room.
This switch has a fiber WAN port with ethernet ports for networking the units.
