hey guys,
just would like to have some confirmation on this. If we were to purchase a OEM license, but not holding on to the same machine model or even hardware configurations, it still considers as law breach against Microsoft right?
hope to get more information on this, Thanks.

OEM is only for computer manufacturers / assemblers
by right, you are not allowed to, but in some circumstances, they are some ways to get around
anyhow, it's still better than using a totally pirated copy right?

Some of the OEM license can be transfered with no problem depends on your luck. I did transferred a few OEM license from PC to PC and it all went well.
As long as you went pass the activation, It's legal IMO

I've never tried using a original, but now planning to get one but am afraid to get one that doesnt serve the full purpose of owning an original.
If I really get a OEM, will there be a case where it is not able to activate on a different manufaturer machine/model/hardware?

OEM as its name implies, means it must be bundled together with a system. However, previous workaround are to purchase keyboard/mouse and the OEM license.
However, take now that OEM license is not transferable to another new system, even if you decommission/dispose the previous one. Yes, you can install and activate it, but it is illegal when BSA audit your licenses.
The proper way is to purchase Open License Pack, which is more expensive. Therefore, evaluate your current and future licenses upgrade system.
Also, some have Software Assurance, which guarantees you upgrade/patches within a certain period of time.

add info: in some rare cases, MS may grant you the permission to transfer the OEM windows into another different pc's. those rare cases are serious main hardware failure (mobo for example) during warranty period or a recalled pc unit, for example
