Ben Stiller says "Tropic Thunder" is a "a comedy about five actors who go on location and find themselves relying on their boot camp experiences when they get stuck in a real war-like situation." Black will play Jeff "Fats" Portnoy, an overweight gross-out comedian, who's forced to kick his drug addiction while filming on location in the jungle. Downey Jr. will play Kirk Lazarus, the greatest actor of his generation and a four-time Oscar winner. Baruchel will play Kevin Sandusky, an unknown actor on the set and Stiller plays Speedman.
I have a good feeling about this one for some reason.

You are correct. He's appearance in the movie is supposed to be a surprise, but somehow a few online movie sites leaked that pic on the net. They've been asked to remove it by Paramount immediately.
A test screening was done recently, and one of the lucky few have written a little review of it, a glowing one.

Hoping the collective forces of Ironman, Kung Fu Panda and Mr. Gaylord is able to gross more than TDK. Not that i hate TDK... i absolutely loved it to bits, but if i ever hear another - "Not going to watch this... not after TDK...", i'll have to go Tropic Thunder on your asses (And you ppl know who you are)

I wouldn't say that this is a drop dead hilarious kinda film but it's certainly worth watching, at lest for RDJ. His effort to impersonate a black dude and his quotes amuses me almost all the time. Stiller and Black was alrite but RDJ is the man!

With the amount of censorship that is bound to happen, I doubt this movie will be fun in Malaysia's cinema. Just wait for the DVD I would say.

*ahem* it few weeks back....funny as hell movie i'd say. was a surprise when i see tom cruise in this movie. RDJ's total make-up oso damn hardly recognise him ler..... i wont go any local cinema for this one cos of the level of censorship locally. defo good for a laugh.
