haha...wat a coincidence...mammoth and saber tooth tiger in 10,000 BC....just that Scrat is not in that movie
It would make sense why Dinosaurs are in "Ice Age 3". In "Ice Age 1", Sid stumbles across a Tyrannosaur frozen on the icy walls of a an icy cave. In "Ice Age 2", the ice melts. That said, whatever dinosaur/dinosaur eggs that had left frozen, would now be warmed nicely... ready to kick some mammoth butt.
Technically, "Ice Age" and "Ice Age 2" has some of the best ice computer generated images ever created. The water effects are top notch as well.

Not to mention, the fur effect on the film is perfect as it show's how realistic it, & for every movement of the character.. especially well done on Ice Age 2
I guess some dinosaurs did make it (at least in Ice Age movies) after the impact that wiped out all dinosaurs.
