Price is quite attractive. But not recommended coz it is still a new company and very less user. Not worth to take the risk by signing 24 month contract.
Btw, read their

Looks ok. The cheapest so far, RM 78, with HSDPA speeds and USB modem provided. The fair usage policy is quite standard la, for wireless service providers. But the painful part is the 24 month contract. And only covers Klang Valley. This package in only their promo though, as it runs till they're out of stock, so the rate thereafter may increase.

Quoted frm the
FAQ:
Surf with U offers you unlimited usage, however to curb abuse to the service and network congestion, each subscriber is allowed to use up to 5G per month according to bill statement date.

so what if the user reach the 5Gb data usage? access will be automatically blocked?

i think still can cancel within the contract period but just have to pay for the modem cost only which is about RM799!

I was thinking of getting the new Streamyx combo but now thinking of getting a mobile internet. I'm staying with a friend and might be moving here and there often. Since I don't have a confirmed place yet, getting Streamyx doesn't seem to be an option.
This new plan seems to be attractive. I think the 24 contract is just a period and it can be cancalled at any time. Just pay for modem and the final month usage. If stick on the contract, the modem can keep.
Can someone tell me if Maxis lets customers keep the modem if the contract is finished?

This 3G is very location dependable.
And the reception can be a headache if your location not good.

8MB is too little lah.. Are you sure got such thing? if 800MB is reasonable.
Where did you find out that you can't use more than 8MB? I don't see it .
On the money back condition, it only states that the modem must be returned in good condition within 8 days.

I wonder if Cheras is entirely covered in it's coverage? Because I see that Cheras is in the coverage map....if it is not entirely covered.....in which area of Cheras is covered in it's service(U-Mobile)......
The service looks good to me but i'm still sceptical of it's service.......because this service sounds new to me...and a little expensive though.....RM78/month.....don't know how good it is and how reliable is their service....is it on best effort basis or what.......
I juz asked this due to reasons of wanting a wireless internet service for a college student like me and the rest of the forumers who might be college or Uni students as well...

The website don't have much information on the coverage. I think you have to call them to find out. RM78/month is cheap considering it can go up to 3.6Mbps. Compare to others that are more than RM100/month for similar speed.
Of course, I think their service as usual is best effort basis. There is no guarantee service effort in Malaysia that I know off.
Is there a roadshow? I would like to test the speed myself.

I am using this U mobile broadband now.
I just started using it yesterday. The speed is quite ok for me. can go up to 80KBps when download files. The good thing is, it doesnt disconnect. I connected for 5 hours and the speed of it is quite constant.
I am living in tmn melati utama there.
So far is ok for me la...
perhaps, the amount of users for this service is still very few, have to review again when the users amount become big

Yes!!! Unless you get written permission.
And in their faq, they said 3.6 is if there is not many users, and lastly their coverage is so limited. streamyx has a 60 ringgit plan without phone line rental now.

What I was informed from the people there, if you excess the 5Gb data limit, there will not charge you. Just that the bandwidth for you is reduced for the remaining days of the month.
Well, another thing which is good news for us, the officer there saying currently the 5Gb data limit rule is not yet enforced, so meaning for the time being its unlimited data usage. However, I not really believe it, have to see what will happen to my bandwidth if my data usage exceeds 5Gb

While the download speed is pretty ok, the upload speed is miserable. I'm staying in Taman Danau Desa and I was informed that my place has a 99.9% coverage. The speed fluctuates from around 100kbps to 500kbps. Sometimes I even obtained 1.1Mbps.

I agree that the speed is way below expectation. However, at 50-60kbps of upload speed, what can I do with it? I won't even be getting a decent voip.

u doesn't offer a data only package at the moment. They're only interested in selling their wireless broadband service if you also get the modem from them. This is so they can tie you down into a 24 month contract. Any company practising these kinds of policies should be avoided, as it says a lot about their confidence in their own service
After all, if they were so confident about the quality of their service, why not offer packages without restrictions?

Just got ubroadband and I live in Subang Jaya. Surfing is very slow. And I did a few speed test and my speed is the same as a 56K dial up modem.
According to the map, it said Subang Jaya had very strong signal.
I guess its back to Streamyx. Whatever it is, even their Streamyx 384 is faster than this 3.6Mbps speed.

Totally agree w/ u guys, my area in D'sara Perdana got similar speed rate only.
Really slow but 1 thingit was good abt was it never DC & normal surfing like checking mail / MSN was ok. Price was ok too but 5GB/month really not enuf for me at all.
But no point, since it slower than 56kbps. Will return modem to them soon.

The registration was easy enough, filled in the registration form and paid RM50. I get a ZTE MF622 modem and a U Mobile USIM. Will be giving the "8-Day" offer a run for its money (or my money?

). If there's good performance around areas where I need to go online, then that's ok with me.
Will try to report my findings here soon.

1 word = sucks
average speed 100-300kbps (1.8/3.6 mbps konon)
more like edge, which is only rm66 now
i'll get around 1mbps if u open lots and lots of connections or 10-20 pages of websites at the same time.
i live in kajang, but tried at lotsa places in the kl, almost the same.
youtube? forget it.
also no ssh port for those wanna tunnel to their office or home.
returning it when the trial ends.

I was at Digital Mall SS14 last night and saw quite a number of people signing up for this service. Well, I think most people are just wanting to try it out since there is a 8 days money back guarantee. Most of them probably end up returning nevertheless.
