my gamepath experience not so good, dunno why. ping always high. >800ms

if i use the linux fix, i can get ~600ms, so still playable.

without gamepath or linux, my ping is often 1.5k+.

all these problems started happening very recently, last 3 weeks or so.

Yo, which server are you using? Can you ping the server?

There are 3 servers at the moment.

gate1.gamepath.net
gate2.gamepath.net and
gate3.gamepath.net

If you get about 200-230 ms for the server, you shouldn't be lagging.

I believe you did not connect correctly to the server. Try the following.

1. Connect to Gamepath on Putty
2. Open Freecap and login WoW.
3. Once you are in the server, close down Putty.

If you DC: it means you are connected correctly to the server.
If you do not DC: it means you did not connect correctly which is why your ping is high.

Hope you can let me know your results so I can help you to fix it.

Did you know you can add me on msn, help@gamepath.net and I can help you troubleshoot instantly. Also you can request for server change if you are an existing user who has problems with the current server.

If you sometimes cannot connect, it's because the trial account is in use.

All those who say it lags, can you help me ping my servers and tell me what kind of ping you are getting?

Your ping is about 60ms more than me at home so you should still be getting a reasonably low ping. Maybe about 300+ only.

I have wireless connection, so can use gamepath as well?

yes it works. I'm on a wireless myself!

Problem seems to be in instances like MH and BT.

Outside instance i'm fine about 350-400ms.

Once inside instance, it jumps to 600-1k.

I did some research seems like Lowerping users are experiencing this as well.

Is there anything we can do about it?

I can change server for you to see if you still got this problem. I got 3 different server from 3 different states so it might be different for another server.

can I use gamepath to connect to other servers? Cause when official server is down, im playing on a private server. Any ways to make it connect to a pvt server instead?

I think it just works on official server coz its like u sitting on gamepath "bus" to blizzard office in a crazy speed.

Yes I'm from Singapore. Basically all servers are hosted in USA. So if your latency to the USA is not as good as some other countries there's nothing much I can do.

But technically speaking, your default ping (without Gamepath) is also higher than what I am getting which is 400-500ms.

So you can probably get maybe 250-280ms with Gamepath.

Can you try login to any of my server using your test account and see your ping?

**Note that if you connect to server and ping is not lowered, try closing putty once you are in WOW. If you do not D/C it means you did not connect properly.

If you having big diff of lat between non-raid and raid, it can be due to graphic or some other add-on issue.

I have used both gamepath and lowerping and they both yield the same performance for me (approx same ping)
During raid, the ping will be slightly higher (increase from 300 to 400-500ms) but I think that's normal when many traffic-heavy addons are operating during raid like damage meter, threatmeter etc.
The latency is good for me all the time during raid or outside raid except during the AOE of MH waves. The latency can shoot up to 4k - 6k (both lowerping and gamepath).
I tried to switch off all the suspicious addons and it changed nothing. So yea, any solution from gamepath?

Ping go up in raid is a definite. From 220ms, it may sometimes go up slightly because of more resources needed when there is so many people together.

For your case, if the ping goes up to so much, it is very extreme. It could be that there is congestion. I am not sure which end is congested but when you raid in 25 man, the data transfer between you and the server is significantly more.

Hence it is very important that you pick the right server out of the 3 that I have to use to reduce this kind of problem.

Like example if your ping is low but your transfer speed to the server is very small amount, (e.g u can only download data at 10k/s) then when you are alone, soloing you won't feel a difference. But once there is a lot of data like in a raid (where you need more than 10k/s) your transfer is not fast enough hence the lag.

Nothing much I can do except guide you to pick the fastest, best server for you. If you add me to your MSN, help@gamepath.net
I can help you do some ping and tracert tests to determine the best server for you. Then you can post the positive results / feedback here for all to see

One thing for sure, I can give you better service and more assurance than Lowerping!

is gate3.gamepath.net server down? i tried to use the trial account but it gave me an error instead of automatically close down

btw i have no problem connecting to server 1 and 2 but both also cant use trial cuz in use.

Hmm the server wasn't down. You will get that error if you took too long to key in your username and password. That's just a security feature to prevent hackers from trying to do an attack on me.

Can you try again and see if you still get that error?

Hmm, just got it to try out. Could see the 300 ms drop when in Shatt. Didn't have time to try it out in the raid first.

But you seriously need to fix your "Download & Install It" page as well as the trial it page.

1. A note about about password will not be shown. You don't put the **** asterisks so people may wonder what happened.

2. Not WoW.exe but the Launcher.exe to start it. Maybe it'll be better to use this because WoW may hang if not started from the launcher. Plus, Blizz may look at players harder without the launcher starting?

3. Put a note on your payment page that UserID + password will be mailed after payment received.

I wanna try it out and most probly will get it if it does lower my ping; but same as okf987, after I keyed in the ID.. I couldnt key in the password..

can i use that in thailand?

The password is hidden. You can type as usual and login just that the words don't appear.

Anyway, are there any issues with Battleground game play? Getting knock off either Streamyx or WoW when I'm on gamepath. Using Server #2.

Hmm, not sure on that knocking off. Perhaps you can try another server to see if it happens as well. If it does then most likely it is Streamyx acting up.

You can download the new server list on the site. It has been updated accordingly. Or just add the server gate4.gamepath.net to your putty.

Hi mrboosy, glad you liked it. However if you are unable to do transfer in SGD to my bank, it is best that you either:

1) find a friend to help you use credit card or paypal account to pay
2) have a friend in singapore to make payment via i-banking / atm transfer.

That would be the best least complicated way.

So often that I got kicked out of game due to gamepath extraordinarily exit or something.. but Ive been very satisfied so far. Might give it a try for another 1 or 2 days and I'll just subscribe for it xD

By the way Server 3 is probably the best server for Malaysians. I got reports that if you get the 118 range IP you can about 260ms in WOW.

I was wondering the same too.. How many ppl can use 1 account??? Coz i'm playing wow on 2 pcs.

Unfortunately, there's different ranges throughout the country. And it's all not predictable either since it also depends on population density. In any case, I've drop you a mail to try out Server 3.

Oh, couldn't get into Server 4 before but then again, I didn't send in a note to request for the change.

With Server 2, I think it's more my line than Gamepath though. Gamepath seems to cut down the latency by 300 ms and there's less frequent lag spikes. The strange thing was the BGs latency - still showing some unusual latency (1.2k ms) compared to being in Shatt (500-700 ms).

How is the result for server 3 for you so far?
Yeah I know some people's ping depends on their area. That's why there's 4 servers to choose but so far majority of M'sians have picked/changed to server 3 since it was launched.

As for BG lag, I think if your net have problems, BG might cause the ping to go up because the data/speed required is even more than standing in Shattrah as in BG, there is more things happening around you so more data.

Give Server 3 a try and see if this fixes your problem! Otherwise some suggestions are to use Sockscap and see or close any external programs that might be taking up additional resources that your PC is needing to handle the madness

Testing gamepath using server 3 with 60.49.xx.xx ip , i got constant/stable 224ms latency in Warsong, AB & arena BG from 12pm till 3am until i exit wow.
Very good , playing a mage in pvp will never be the same.
