i just formated my pc a week ago..
i've installed vlc 0.8.6d-win32 on my pc(latest)..
now wen i watch my videos there's onli audio feed.. there no video feed..its just a blank screen...
any1 can help???

codec problem dude...

google free codec pack.. and download some video codec and install

have you selected/deselect video track1?

try this..

K-Lite Codec Pack 3.75 (Full)

u need to change the video codec. select each codec and try play it.

Note: K-Lite is many codec compiled into one.

guys, vlc do not use directshow codec by default, eg klite, google codec pack or blablabla, vlc never use it and will never work, trust me.

vlc has its own codec pack already.
although user can configure vlc to use dshow codecs iirc.

codec packs only work with dshow based player like wmp, winamp, mpc, zoom player and so on.

ok.. since dat dont work.. how can i rectify dis???

1. try wmp first, with codec pack.

2. did vlc complain "No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "abcd". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.
"? if not, its prolly overlay mixer prob, or something else.

3. http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/ (better than install tons of codec pack for SURE)

what is ur video container and format?

tried wmp.. vlc din say anythin, just no video gave me a black screen ni... thx.. wad do u mean by video container?? format is AVI..

try nightly build first, stable release doesnt mean its stable ROFL.

fire up vlc, press Ctrl + P, go to video prefrence page, at output there select "OpenGL", or untick "accelerate video output".

if all attemp failed, again, try smplayer

video container = avi
formats mean eg divx,real,h264,mpeg blablabla~

did u installed latest trunk build?
u need to delete the old version before install the latest trunk, else vlc prolly will gone crazy.

trunk build as in da latest vlc?? yeah.. i did.. i installed it after i formated my HD.. got da preferences.. used da 2nd skin.. now its working fine... thx a lot.. finally can ease my boredom..

trunk build = nightly build, its compiled by developer every day if there is new code was commited to source tree, its the latest build.

so the prob is cause by skin only
vlc is buggy, nexttime try ffdshow + haali media splitter + mpc

nono its not da skin...tis just dat da 2nd skin has just a click away 2 preferences.. made it easier 2 find da video output..
