Hi, I would like to know which one of these 3 type of batteries are the best for my old school Casio Digital Camera.

Sanyo Eneloop
Maha PowerEx Imedion
Maha PowerEx

Thanks in advance guys!

I'm using Sanyo NIMH 2700 on my Canon PowerShot A640. Damn lasting... up to 1 month if hardly use.

My GP 2700 are really lousy...

I have to use 12 units of them, put 8 into battery packs... and 4 on the flash gun. And they can only last me less than one thousans shots of full blast with 580EX II. cry.gif

Slow discharge battery is the only battery you should buy. if its not slow discharge like Sanyo Eneloop, then dun buy. You'll regret.

I bought 4 AA eneloop yesterday. smile.gif

Yup I would recommend the Eneloop over the Maha PowerEx for your camera use. You don't need the fast recycle rates which the powerex offers.

Weird, my 4x GP2700 in S5IS can last 350-450 with 50-60% built-in flash, which I think is normal.

I leave it 2-4 weeks don't use, still can take many photos with flash. >50 not yet battery low.

That's same finding as my experince on the S3IS with GP2500.

Ok, so I should go with Eneloops right ?
Have anyone here bought from Shashinki.com ? The price of the Eneloop is RM59 and according to the site, if purchase over RM50 the shipping is free. Is it true ?
Thank you to all.

I think the Sanyo NiMH 2700mAH are the standard batteries photographers would choose. But if you are not a regular user, then the Enelopes are ideal because their discharge rates are very low compared to standard NiMH. If you seldom use your battery as in they gather dust for up to 4 months one shot, then buying those e2 lithium batteries are better. I have experienced GP NiMH 2500mAH batteries dying after not using them for 3 months completely flat. I know, its due to user negligence.

Anyway I do have good things to say about GP NiMH 2500mAH, maybe because I'm not a highly demanding user. I do have Duracell 2650mAH and another battery starting with letter V (bought in Australia and I forgot the name). Very good performance as in it could last around 950 shots (accumulated in separate usage sessions on a single charge) and the continuous flashing is very good.

In my opinion, just choose any of those batteries you could get from the stores, be it MAHA or Sanyo or GP or Sony. Just one that fits your needs. If you prefer using a single brand, then make sure you choose one that is common in stores. For me, I would look for batteries that can be rapid charged in minimum 2 hours. So I would scout for charger+battery packs that could do this. Then choose the cheapest of the bunch. No need to debate which can last longer. As long it is reliable and does not explode, buy more and keep spares.

I bought my Maha PowerEx frmo Shashinki and have no problems whatsoever with their service, which is top notch IMHO.

I bought 4x AA Sony Rechargeable Batteries plus speed charger for Rm95.
Using it on my Canon S5, and am very happy with it.

I got to agree with Davidmak. A lot of my photographer friends are using the sanyo 2700, or either the maha powerEX. actually it all depends on your usage. For 1 single charge of 4x2700 sanyo i can use my vivitar flash for almost 500 shots. Not that bad after all...

For me, Sanyo Eneloop, used with my previous pns coolpix 4100. Before my original Nikon rechargeable died, battery would die first before i finish up shooting my memory card space, after changed to eneloop, battery last longer till even my memory card full already so very happy with it. Anyway, my memory card only 128MB lah lol

Sold off my coolpix edi, now no movie to record cry.gif

Well, I still think I should stick with Sanyo Eneloop cause I seldom use the camera. Do you guys think that 2000mAh is sufficient ? From my experience, my camera is consuming battery power like drinking water.

Well, the ratings wont matter if the battery loses energy fast.

IMHO, eneloops are great. I leave them in my external flash unit for weeks, and whenever I turn it on, I can shoot instantaneously.

Same source here. The batteries work great even after a couple months left in the flash. Strongly recommend them. Price-wise not expensive compared to retail shop if u buy 8-pack.

I had run through 16 batteries from sanyo, 2500s (not eneloop) with "superlattice alloy technology" which worked great, they lasted very long on a single charge when new - 1-2 mths still has charge, but too bad they died not long after activation.. 6-8 months later they cannot even hold charge even for a day doh.gif (ie. cannot even power up my kodak PnS, it'll flash red - battery empty) shakehead.gif IMHO there is a problem with the sanyo batteries, the lattice breaking down after some time causing the batteries to turn totally useless..maybe internal short? Even fake sony NiCD's are better than these crap. Now I'm stuck with a bunch of useless batteries..even those claimed warranty from sanyo turned useless similarly. I still keep the batteries for anyone with doubts.
davidmak
Also the choice of chargers are important. Some rapid chargers do not really take care the batteries causing them to overstrain and make the batteries unreliable after a few rounds. For this reason, I am suspicious with those chargers capable of charging a battery to 80% capacity in 30 minutes. Too rapid in my opinion hehehehe! biggrin.gif

I'm using Eneloop with my 7 year old Minolta S304 which is like drinking water. I will tell you that Eneloop is damn good smile.gif

Glad to hear every one like ENELOOP here. It's proven and the studies result is tally with one CANADIAN professional batteries users. Their super lowest discharging rate in lower temperature even more impressive the consumers. BTW, this is a grand design won in Japan and Germany in 2007 and 2008 respectively. No regret to buy it.

Ping me if you wanted to order bulk.

Use the recommendations quoted above. It is the same. Just get the highest NiMH rating you can find. Get a good rapid charger too.

For flash gun usage requirement is rather simple. Highest power... Just get the highest rating possible to shorten the recycle time. cool2.gif
