Just want to ask. I had subscribed to streamyx rm44 for 60 hours package. How am i counted for my bandwidth usage? Does it mean right after i switch on my modem then it starts charging my usage?

Once you are connected to streamyx. It depends on how you configure your modem. If your modem is configured to dial automatically, then you are counted straight, if not, once you connect manually, it will start counting.

You also can check your usage via tmnet website.

RM44 package is 512/256 kbps with 60 hours limit, there should be a promotion package RM45, but only 384/128 kbps unlimited hours, good for those who surf net & check mail.

If you configure auto-dial, it will start counting when the modem is switched-on and auto-dial.

Which means you must switch your modem off when you have finished, otherwise you will continue to use up the allowance for the month, and start paying extra additional charges once you have exceeded your allowance.

For limited usage broadband its recommended to set it as manual connect.

pay RM22 more and enjoy unlimited access la...if not over due then have to pay again.

But this plan is good for those who wanna control themselves for not online-ing too much.
My friend refuse to use RM66 package due to this reason

Broadband is aka water for me.A must for me..i rather no water drink also wan broadband. So for me rm66 package is best for me.

Then, you can try broadband at UK. The speed is much better than Malaysia.

This is upgraded package for current dial-up(1515) users.

Go ask any Streamyx resellers/agents.

Very dangerous this package install dialer in ur pc not auto dial in ur modem because u will get 80 hours of online time if you exceed this they will charged more per minute i got friend being overcharged by Streamyx for much more than 1.5k he actually think he could save budget tapi paying more . So carefull

the unlimited rm45 seems a better option to me, tho the spd is slower but it's good enuf for light activities

that's what i'm thinking...i can just put the download there 24hrs...not that 512kbps i can reach max download speed all the time...

This is the weakness of our telecom billing system.
They should adopt one which is that of DiGi's or Singapore's.

The usage charges should be capped at a fixed amount which once reached, it'll go unlimited.
Example:

When the user's usage reach an amount of RM150, his Streamyx charges for that month will become RM150 regardless of how much he use further.But NO, our isps pretend to know about it, instead they let the meter continue to run...

to me streamyx package still not competitive , since tmnet is dominant they can do whatever they want to do..... but there will be a turning point but I'mnot sure when?, just like what happen of the current govt and political situation.... just waiting and waiting ......RM60 for unlimited access with 384kbps .... it's a joke .... bundle package konon.....
