Added on September 12, 2008, 12:44 amGuys, a really weird thing happend to my G900 earlier today. it's concerning my battery life. earlier this afternoon, around 4PM, I decided to take a nap, so I left my phone in my study with approx 61% battery life left. then, when I woke up around 7.30PM and went to check on it, the phone was off! I quickly turned it on, showed the SE splash screen and got to the screen where it asks for my SIM card PIN number. I keyed in my PIN then it turned off by itself! I turned it on again, a bit worried by then, and this time, it didn't even get to the simcard PIN screen, just after the SE splash screen it turned off.

I assumed the battery is dead, so I charged it..and lo and behold, turned out the battery was dead flat! Weird, cuz when I left it at 4PM, no apps were running except messaging and contacts, and while I was charging it, I checked the missed calls/sms's. turns out there were no missed calls and only 3-4 sms's. why ah does the phone suddenly become dead?

So far, after 4-5 days of use, my batt can only last me for less than a day. I keep it charged at night. next day when I use it (not heavily, just a few calls, some sms'ing, normal stuff) for a few hours, say by 8PM I'm already down to maybe 20-30%. how long does your battery lasts guys? I'm worried la.

Worth to buy?Sound quality if compare to w580 and w910 ...how the quality?

I still choose between G900, w595 (sad no AF and FLASH), w980(No AF)

yea, as i've expected, the pictures are not even close to the ones taken by estato.com.. this has confirmed my speculation on g900..
i don't understand why pictures taken by estato.com are way more impressive..

howvever, i believe that later on the firmware might improve on the pictures quality.. hopefully, keeping fingers crossed..

dude you charge wit the std charger or USB charger. I notice with USB charger the batt do not last long. I at home the other nite and charge to close to 95%. the next day i went down to 60%. when i charge with the standard charger, it can last me 3-4 days. that is with about an hours of music on the way back in the train.

i notice the same thing too but with my z610 not my g900, with usb charge my z610 last for 5 calls or less then it died and now i can't even open it anymore

thats normal when charge ur phone with USB. usb doesnt provide power as much as conventional charger

u guys think that the firmware can improve on the photo quality?
i'm quite concerned on this matter, as i'm looking forward to get g900, but the photo quality is the main factor holding me back..
i feel that w810i takes better pictures than the pictures posted by dani_irwan.. i don't expect it to beat n82, but at least better than k800i/k810i la..

I've charged my phone only with the std charger dude. Ever since yesterday, I've noticed that my G900 doesn't need to charge that often and also that the batt seems to last a bit longer, or perhaps it's just wishful thinking.

Maybe it just needs a couple of cycles till the batt life stabilizes and achieves it's optimum? Btw, do u guys turn off your phone while it charges...or just leave it on?

I was deciding between this phone and the C902 and ultimately, I chose this phone because of the Wi-fi connectivity and because I need to be able to access my files and internet while I'm on the go. Basically, this is a more business-oriented phone than the C902 so the camera isn't meant to be as good as the C902's. If it was, no one would buy the cybershot! So your decision should be whether you need a phone with some smartphone functions or whether you need it for it's camera.

Well it seems so, most of my SE phone the first few days the battery drain like nothing but as it goes, the battery last longer and longer. I dont turn off any of my hp when charging. Ever since the first phone i got. Lol

i too charge with Std charger oni. I carry the USB cable for emergency cahrging in the office.

I agree ooj, G900 is a business centric phone not a photo-centric. It may come wif 5MP but if you reali want a photo-centric SE phone the C is the way to go. my Gee have kept me entertain on my way back from work, help me find my way (thru Google map mobile) and snap some pic as note.

GMM need internet to work. When you are connected to internet, goto http://www.google.com/gmm.

Remember GMM need internet to work. it won't "talk to you" turn by turn but you can specify the start and end destination and GM will plot the route for you. I am not sure how well it work in MY but in SG its pretty useful.

I install Handyday apps the other day to try out. decide not to use it anymore. I uninstall the apps. However, everytime i back up, after the re-boot handy day will start the installation. I need to cancel the installation.

how to use wifi?
tap on the little-3angle-tat-points-down on the top left edge of the screen. Select Connections - Wireless LAN. At eh WLAN screen, goto More - Enable WLAN. Then tap on Scan. your Gee will scan for available network. those with a lock are secured network. Select the network you want to connect. You may have to enter the SSID key if its a secured network.

how to check battery life?
on the top right corner, you see the battery icon. just tap on it.

Gee is a touchscreen phone. you see anything, just touch it. some kinda menu will probably come out. However, tapping on girl picture will not guarantee anything come out OK...!!!

back-up and run the update service. go back a few page and there is instruction how to do this.

It does, I just received an email by them, they told me we can send our hp to any of the certified service centre for uploading the Chinese language support.


Singapore and KL is the same, why would it be such a problem to you?

My G900 can write Chinese characters, not that I ever use it, lol.

And yeah, I cannot change the time to KL timezone too, it always states Singapore time even after I've set my location to KL. Not a big prob for me, but a KL timezone would've been nicer

New things that I love about my Gee: Reading and updating RSS feeds...a good time sink while at the bank, etc! Man, I love this phone!
