Um, I know this might be a stupid question to ask considering that this is a smart phone but I just want to confirm if we can set the location for our incoming messages to go to?

I'm now using w700 which often upsets me because I can't direct the incoming messages to the mass storage (memory stick), causing me to delete precious smses.

And another urgent question is that is there any way I can transfer my messages in my current phone (which is stored in the phone memory) to the g900?

Thanks.

normally how many sms you will stored before delete? for your info, i heard a people storing up to 1000+ by using G900..because G900 build in 160MB..
for transfering sms to another phone, im not sure, because never did that before.. hmm.gif
Ivonne168
Well I plan to use this phone for up to 2 years (I think) before chucking it out and I'm not sure how many sms will I store before I delete, but I like to keep messages for some unknown reason to me (maybe obsessive compulsive behaviour), but I can say MAYBE 1000+'s not enough for me.

Can help me dig around in your phone to see if there's any options to save messages in memory stick instead? Hahaa thanks.

The number of SMSes the G900 can store is limited only by the amount of free memory. I don't think theres an option to store SMSes on the memory stick. I haven't found it, anyway. But, it'll be a long time before you can fill up the 140MB of phone memory tongue.gif
Just install all your programs on the memory stick and save your camera's photos, videos, andsound recordings on the memory stick, not the phone memory.

You can try copying the smses to your SIM card, put it in the G900 and then copy it to the phone. If you have a lot of messages, it will take a lot of time though.

OR you can try float's mobile agent, save all your SMSes on your pc, and then restore them on your G900. Haven't used that software much though, so make sure its possible. (its free, you have nothing to lose)
Ivonne168
Wow. So my question's not that stupid after all XD.

But yeah you're right, it'll take some time before I can fill the 140 with smses ^^

Hmm, I thought of the copy to sim card method too, thought I'd just see if there're any other quicker alternative method.

I've heard of float's mobile agent before, maybe I should give it a go then.

Thanks for the help!
rakuen
Ivonne168, you can try MyPhoneExplorer, it's free as well. U can easily use it to backup and store your smses and contacts. And I think it's capable of restoring those smses to your new phone too.

Just google it, it's quite easy to find. Hope that helps.

Cheers smile.gif

Downloaded the MyPhoneExplorer it's a good software. I can see nearly everything in my phone ^^. But I'm not sure about restoring the smses to the new phone though...do I connect the new phone with MPE and let them sync themselves out? Lol.

there are no stupid questions. "he who asks a question is a fool for a moment, he who doesnt ask is a fool for a lifetime" or so they say. hehe

well i dont really think they have such a feature. maybe there is software to back up to pc? you can check that out. btw. why on earth do you wanna keep 1000++++ sms's on your phone? i mean. they must be really sentimental. i think you should just keep them seperate. then if you wanna look it up. on your old phone again.

for smartphone i think when opening the messaging it will really lag. make is real slow to send sms or read sms.

is there some way to send message to SE update people and tell them to put search function in? i think it will be useful. hahah. especially for those who do work on their phone. maybe search their emails. or even for the 1000+ sms that some of the forumers keep. i think would be useful.

I was just wondering if LY's price's really that competitive for me to go there and get my g900 there or should I just buy my phone nearby.

I heard that LY's price's not that competitive (higher, even), and the chances of getting conned's pretty high >.<

its a hopeless investigation. i gave up already. but my guess is that it is used when there are sms's on you sim card. so then you dl them from the sim card to the phone. as you mentioned you can store sms on your sim (i never knew that. hahah) but i too malas to check. hahha. not important feature i guess for me.
