yeah it should be alright. sometimes there is incompatibility with the type of signal sent out. some places only send a 801.11 b signal. and some only send 801.11 g. make sure your modem sends out both. most phones run on the 'b' signal. not sure though. you will have to check this out.

when using internet, check also which connection your are using. It happen to me once. while i am connected to Wifi, i am not getting to internet. then i realise the default connection used is the GPRS. I switch and its OK then.

i listed mine to check all wifi connections first.
then 3g
the last resort gprs

menu >> settings >> connectivity >> internet accounts >> groups tab (there should be 'internet') >> click edit >>

a list of all the connection priority will come up. just click the name of the one you want to move. and it will give the option.


it will only work if wifi is already enabled i think. if the wifi on your phone is off it goes to 3g then gprs. otherwise it will scan the wifi zone for connections. so you can add all the shopping mall hotspots if you got time heheh

New firmware for CDS Generic World is out. Phone Ver R9N002

actually what is Generic World??

SE got a lot of region customised firmware. Normally the first to come out is for Generic World one. As for Malaysian set, normally the region (called CDA) is Singapore based. So, you have to wait a bit longer to get the latest firmware. My Original Thorus set also CDA 1213-2204 R2A Singapore one. But I changed mine to CDA 1204-3148 Generic World 1. Get the new firmware the fastest. Now comes with new red theme. Very nice.

So can AP set update to the latest firmware just like original set?

Sure, can. If your AP set hasn't come with latest firmware yet, just change to CDA Generic World. Sure can get latest one. Use SEUS to update.

actually SE PC suite can do everything for u.. back up and restoring yr contacts/sms and more... easiest

you can back up your contacts to your memory stick if you want by just using your phone.

if you use the SE software it backs up to the pc i think. and you can save it. like that.

How can I solve the "could not locate remote server" error when browsing via certain Wi-Fi connection even though a connection was established with the wireless router?

what i mean is... i can surf internet via free wifi access such as at starbuck,mamak restoren n etc but can't through my home wireless router...what happen guys..

I just want to get confirmation, changing the phone CDA from Singapore to Generic World (GW) will disable Chinese character input, right? If I'm not mistaken, that is the case on SE P1i.

i'm facing almost the similar problems.

- at office i never able to connect but laptop can
- at house sometimes can connect but for a short time then need to reconnect but takes a couple of tries (mostly "connection failed").

strange. i wouldve guessed it was that B/G thing . but people say the phone supports both wifi signals.

maybe there is some issue with a firewall. sometimes your home router will have its own firewall. i cant confirm this but its an idea.

are you sure the password is correct that you logged in your phone? i noticed that if the password is wrong my phone or laptop will still say connected. but i just wont be able to surf.

yup confirm i enter the right password coz my n82 can connect to wifi without problem....myb need to update to the latest firmware to solve this problem..em

ok...half an hour ago i'm do a master reset..that mean reset to factory default as new phone...after that i'm try to access free internet at mamak cafe..but can't connect..phone said"connection failed"...so i guess there have a "secret" setting to make wifi work smoothly...any idea guys

myb G900 owner that can access free wifi and home wifi can sharing the setting..thanks
