wat about other class??? have new weapon also?
auhckw
I don't understand why they make so many new achievements for only 1 class. I think we will foresee a lot of medic hanging around real soon

They're actually doing it for all... Starting with the Medic.

The reason is, not many ppl want to play Medic (Which is true), and this is the carrot stick they'll be using now.

I believe it has to do with the medic not being able to kill people very well. And you know how demanding people are to the ability to frag. I'm even holding back the class on occasions because his heal-assists never count as kills in E-Club servers (like, duh).

You get four points towards your E-Club rankings for each Medic-Kill Assist. I think it's seven for an Uber.

I made it to the top 100 on E-Club with a 0.65 K/D ratio, so playing medic definitely gives you lots of points even if you don't actually kill enemies yourself.

The medic is probably the EASIEST class to top the boards with with the least amount of skill... All it needs is for you to be well aware of your surroundings and learn to "survive" while latching on to targets.

The problem is, most medics I see are either cowards (Only stay back to heal) or are completely unaware of how to utilize their class properly. Good medics will almost always be in the top 25% of the team. Really good medics will just rack up assist kills like mad.

A lot of ppl see medics as the "healbot" and thus aren't part of battles, which is the exact opposite of how they were built. If they were meant to stay out of action, they'd have done it like in ET. These new achievements are meant to emphasize this.

I'm looking at the scoring system and it seems a bit off:
Assist = 2 points
Kill with Rocket launcher = 1.5 points

WTF?
madman20
They not only assume medics as "Healbots" only...they take them for granted..targets healed by medics don't take care of their healers..

It's sad to say..when they are being healed..they think they're like on Ubermode and just charge in without looking back =/

25. Sawbones: Hit enemies with your bonesaw 10 times in arrow without dying or missing.
28. Chief of Staff: Accumulate 10 million total heal points.
36. Bedside Manner: Be healing a teammate as he achieves an achievement of his own.

WTF?????
victor_hoh
kinda disappointed with the new map. Same old desert feel. Can't they make something different?

yu_wang
wah some of the achievemnts look darn tough ><
H@H@
Some of those achievements sound downright ridiculous... 10k heal points in a single life?

Others sound too dependent on your targets... Demomen kill 8 buildings in a single uber? Scout kill 5 ppl in a single uber?

Looks like I won't be using the Ubersaw anytime soon sad.gif

Yup, I love it when a Heavy goes HEEEYYAAAHHHHH!!! and keeps firing when he is:
a) not damaging the sentry enough to overcome the engy's repair rate and
b) is being damaged by the sentry faster than I can heal him
In that situation, back up lor and wait for a demo or soldier to take it out, but no, he insists on shooting till he dies.

And a lot of times, people cannot seem to wait for an uber and keep charging out to die when it's clear that they aren't going to get far without at least one or two ubers. My favourite is when they keep the one-way gate open, allowing enemy pyros to come in and wipe out the two or three medics that have been charging up their ubers. doh.gif
madman20
Lol..when you try to run away from a stupidly charging maniac..they'll call you a stupid medic at that =/

Although..that have only happened on the local (SG and Msia) servers...EGN (I play there quite often) players don't mind if the medic leaves when he needs to..heck..they encourage the medics to run
Cannonfodder
As a medic, my priority is to stay alive, which directly keeps my teammates alive. So when I'm hurt bad, I will go and get a medpack so players shouldn't complain unless they can heal me.

On that point, don't race a medic to a medpack, he can heal you, you can't heal him. Medics should also make other medics their first heal target, because there's no resource more valuable to the team than the ubercharge.

If someone complains because I do any of the above and refuse to be their personal heal-b****, then I just don't bother to heal them and let them experience the fun of having to go hunt down a medpack. I love it when they're burning and almost dead, at which point I just pull out my bonesaw and play them a farewell song.

man..some of the new achievements are bloody ridiculous.
i read through em' all and some of them sound downright impossible -.-

Ditto on medpacks are for Medics...

Conversely, there were quite a few times where I accidentally stumbled over an ammo pack as a Soldier was going for it. whistling.gif

ROFL same like me, my fren were wondering why my kpd so low but ranking 50 , i said i use medic all the time ahhahah
but now seldom use medic laugh.gif rank also drop

H@H@
Is ranking really that important for you guys on the e-club servers?

It only seems hard to move up when you're near the top... I stopped playing for nearly 3 weeks, ranking dropped to about 4k then played for about 2 hours, and I was in top 500. Then I noticed the huge gap in the top 200 range... Nasty.

Well, it's not important in and of itself but it is deffo a motivating factor to keep going back to the game. I don't obsess over it to the point that I type in "RANK" and "KPD" after every round, but I do look at the stats page after each session to see how I've done.

It's also not that hard to climb the rankings, and the fact that I managed to break into the top 100 is proof that all it takes is the time to grind. I'm not even good at any of the classes, but if you put in the gametime, you'll have an artificial rank that you can attach as your signature to tell the world how l33t you are.

But anyway, I've just gotten into COD4 and have completely given up TF2 for the time being and likely won't go back to it until the Goldrush/Medic Loadout is released. That game is the complete opposite of TF2 but man, it is FUN.

It's HIT ten times in a row without dying, but yeah, it's pretty much the same thing: impossible.

The only way to do it is if two medics pair up and uber each other. Some of these achievements will encourage some players to be jackasses as they try and complete them.

I bet there will be servers dedicated to unlocking these achievements. Some of these are downright ridiculous, and impossible.

fcking winrar!!!!
SilverCrimz
lol so the scout is basically a douchebag biggrin.gif
H@H@
Hmmm, mixed feelings about this one.

I love how they make the Scout look like those "The little guy who could" kind of character (Loved how he loves his lack of biceps tongue.gif )

But they don't really show off how to play him. You don't really see the double jump, his prowess at capturing points or stealing intelligence.

Of all the videos though, he's probably my 3rd most favourite. The combat scene is 2nd only to the Soldier's, personality is right below the Demoman's, "quirky out of game" scene is also 2nd to the Soldier's and quite quotable as the Heavy's vid. Its also pretty damned funny ("Yo, wassup?")

Overall great vid... BONK!

So, the only person that has practically no video time would be the Sniper... Poor fella.

I think the problem is, in the vid, the Scout thinks of himself as this "giant killer" while the ones who actually play him, don't (since its usually the fastest way to die). Also, its got a lot of references American "ghetto" life so to speak.

I suppose... Which is funny because I always thought he was a hyper Boston bike messenger who had caffeine pumping through his veins. I was thinking maybe he would talk in incoherent sentences, etc.

Then again, that seems rather stereotypical. This take seems better as it does give the Scout more personality.

I was kinda hoping that they would have done the Scout with a Zero Punctuation style voiceover, where he'd ramble on at machinegun staccato while running rings around the opposition.

This "I hurt people" lingo just don't jive.

Besides, I think the whole game is full of stereotypes, with the one exception being the drunken, one-eyed, black Scot.
