Valve Reveals New Weapon for TF2's Heavy
35 new class achievements are also teased.
by Jimmy Thang

August 13, 2008 - Valve has revealed a new weapon for Team Fortress 2's Heavy class. The new weapon is the Killing Gloves of Boxing, or K.G.B. for short. Valve will include the new weapon in the upcoming Heavy update. The melee weapon will allow the Heavy to get five seconds of guaranteed critical hits if he kills someone with the K.G.B.; from which he can use to continue pummeling foes with his fists, or to switch out with one of his guns and mow down enemies from afar.

strife_personified
which blitzone? the one nearer to atria or kdu? not familiar with the Mewah shops, as you put it tongue.gif
Lord_Destructo
The one at KDU. but seriously, the loading times are so slow, you get impatient and quit. And then have to restart com
strife_personified
haha. in that case i'll stick to playing at home. at least my pc works without problems. i'm surprised to say that i doubt i'll ever visit a cyber cafe ever again, thanks to broadband and PC tech becoming ever so cheap compared to the old days.
fazco85
now we just need tmnut to fix things up so we can play tf2 lag-free.
strife_personified
seeing as i'm awake, i managed to catch the latest update on the heavy page. i'm already liking the idea of trying out that new payload map, Badwater Basin! Only thing i'm afraid of is how having one single large stage is going to affect slower PCs. well, you know what you need to do, check it out as soon as you wake up!

oh? depends on the server you're in there is rarely lag. I usually now go to bolehVPN (which is totally lagless even with torrenting) or Australian's Best EGN server

keep in mind though, although its using the Source engine, it came out with HL2 EP2 which has all those goodies like HDR and all that, so much so it actually runs on a modified Source engine you could say. the requirements are higher, definitely. case in point, my old 2.6Ghz laptop with a Radeon 7500 can play CSS with most mid-high settings at 1400x1050. but it cant even run TF2.

if you look at your gcf files, if you only install TF2, you wont have Source.gcf, you'll have Source2007.gcf or something like that. it requires more than the old HL2, thats for sure. it looks to me though like that GeForce 6150 might have some problems.

u oso need teh source files
strife_personified
the only old Source files you need are the materials, sounds, and models. even that i think we use very little of. you'll notice that the Source.gcf file itself is missing.
notorius
this game still hot?

how much for TF2 only?
Lord_Destructo
Rm85 retail. but you'd get it cheaper downloading it off Steam

omgos.....
so i cant even support at low setting?
strife_personified
you could definitely try. as madman mentioned, there's a free weekend coming next week, so you can either leech the files from some friend (just need to copy the files over) or you can start "preloading" the files once the free weekend is announced, either on tuesday or thursday next week. then just see if it works/runs during the free weekend itself.
