I'd like to know where I could find a shop in Petaling Jaya (preferably) or Kuala Lumpur which sells electronic components and electronic equipments like soldering iron, DMM, variable resistors or capacitors in small quantities (1 to 5pcs max).

I may give a try to the vGPU mod for my 8800 GT but I don't have any equipment atm.

That's because you don't know how to buy from Farnell.

They sell the Newark Multicomp Metal films cheap, and they sell ON SEMI Con transistors cheap. Generally, they have a good price on commonly used items such as OPAMPs, certain regulators etc. They offer free shipping and discount (for students) too. There are plentiful things to do with Farnell, you just have to know how to do it right. Of course don't expect to buy something common and expect cheap price. You should be using Farnell for rarer parts.

Jalan Pasar is all that great until you realized you need better parts and it does not serve you that well.

1 behind Pelita Nasi Kandar (next to an electrical repair shop)

and the other is a few doors down from McDonalds (next to a hardware shop)
