Back on track to tf2 topic guys & girls. Also pls remember that there are loads of underage kids here. One clue is when people start to ask about what s&m is all about.

hows the TF2 scene nowadays? r there usually a lot of players and servers online? if theres a lot of TF2 activity im thinking of buying TF2 and joining u guys. been playing CS:S for quite some time now. want to find another game to play online.
best option for me would be to buy it off steam, 19.99 (~rm65) through paypal. anyone have other suggestions? dont need the orange box though

yup, get it by steam or just buy the TF2 dvd, stand alone version is out

Portal is fun, but I guess to pay 39.99USD (I think?) for the entire Orange Box is a bit pointless just for TF2 and Portal, which is what I did, ha ha.
TF2 is very crowded, especially on Singaporean/Malaysian/Starhub/Eclub servers, so you will not have any shortage of people to play with at almost any time of the day. CS:S can get stale after a while, but in TF2, it's almost ever-changing.

i spend rm170 for an orangey box, just to play tf2, quite pointless to get hl2 and portal since we got our captain jack

I don't think you really need a verified account, because in order to get verified you gotta do a lot of crap. However making a purchase and having it go through successfully might automatically cause your account to be verified.
Always good to be sure.

Great games deserve to be supported. These games are classic. Pirating them isn't a very nice thing to do(it never is).

credit card? TF2 is a classic. bought it 2 days back and I'm totally hooked. This game has a lot more character than many single player games too...which is a great feat for a developer.
That's why I like TF2 so much, it's a breakaway from the typical warzone FPS's like the Medal of Honor series, the Call of Duty series and the Battlefied series. I mean, where else can you find a Black Scottish Cyclops?

Do you have a Debit card issued by your bank with Visa/Mastercard functions? Those work too as long as it's not electron.

TF2 has a lot more teamwork then cs, and I can assure you that there is no such thing as camping in cs. Even the snipers dont camp. Get TF2 mate, you won't regret it.
Oh yeah, at nite, servers are full house.

I dunno I'm new to the game so its my initial observation. I'm sure it could be used offensively...but mostly engineers camp.I just generally find other servers with ping sub 100...Its good enough...Cant wait for the servers to have a free slot.
Yeah you'll be hard-pressed to find a slot.
Just last night I was queueing for over an hour for the server while my companions only queued for five bloody minutes. I don't know how the system works though.

lol...just spam click refresh and double click the server as fast as you can XD
Yeah, set it to auto-join, but keep refreshing and trying to join. I think if many people are queued who ever's system connects first will auto-join and others will continue to wait, so keep hitting that join button just in case.

Engineers have many ways to go about. You can be defensive, but that doesn't mean you have to stick behind you sentry and keep hitting it. In fact, engineers that do that are bound to die.
Offensive engineers have the most fun, being in the front lines resupplying your team mates and trying to move up your sentry as well as your teleporters. Now thats where the rush is. Thats where you feel that you are actually helping the team in terms of firepower and support. One of the best moments for an engi is slipping into the enemy stronghold and building your exit teleporter there.
Classic.

I have friends that cannot tahan the weapon system in TF2, because it's such a radical change from your typical FPS game. So a lot of them play a bit don't like.
