Just wanted to chime in and say this is a great service, consistently downloading near 100kB/s (my tm limit). And all for a 1RM a day. Customer support is top notch!

I'm not using torrent that much, only use it every now and then to download some European TV programs which aren't broadcasted in Malaysia. But I do play games online a lot (with utorrent shutdown of course). Will the BolehVPN encryption will affect my connection speed when I'm playing games?

Our setup makes it so that it only tunnels the traffic you specify into the VPN. All else remain unaffected.
Of course if your p2p is eating up all your upload and download, surely your game will suffer but if you limit the speed and upload to a reasonable level, you should be able to game without any problems.
However, remember I'm distinguishing this from making online games play better. Our service does NOT improve gaming.
What i'm trying to say above is that you can dl at decent speeds still while gaming without any hit to performance.

E-mailed bolehbit@gmail.com at 1pm... banked in at 2pm... received at 4pm, Damn you guys are fast.
Anyways trying it out for 1 week, just a noob question here.
which one of these do i connect?
1)Bolehroute
2)BolehVPN-all
3)BolehVPN-dc1
4)BolehVPN-dc2
i'm pretty sure its select 1 but just want to be sure.
Reuben
Oct 30 2008, 01:29 AM
Route is everything goes through vpn
Bolehvpn-all is all our proxied servers in both dc1 and 2
Dc1 is proxied servers in datacentre 1.
Dx 2 is proxied servers in datacentre 2
Due to streamyx messing up their routing dc1 might give diff results than dc2. Just try and see which one u prefer

If you're getting 50 kB/sec max already then most likely you're not throttled

(btw last night there was a removal of TM's throttle for a while).
I'm surprised that RM90 only gets you 512 kilobits?
Do a www.speedtest.net test to double check.

huh? rm90 for 512kbps? even more expensive than streamyx 1.0mb?
btw reuben, my subscription ends this december. if i wanna extend my subscription for another 2 month, can i pay in advanced? like in late november? because maybe i will not be at convenience to bank in nearing the end of my subscription. because christmas is just around the corner when my subscription ends.

Definitely the best service around. Rueben went out of the way to help me sort out configuration problems that I was having for a week.
He even pointed me out, to the ongoing TMNET problem & use which set of servers to get the maximum speeds.

Everyone can renew earlier or before their expiry. Our subscription service will automatically add the current balance to the new period.

It works but it's not going to be extremely fast. Usually we don't recommend streaming content in our VPN

wasn't there a free way to bypass the country check for veoh? I remember someone pointing me to it.

Two of our servers in DC1 will be taken offline effective tomorrow. We are slowly phasing out DC1 servers due to high latency from streamyx messed-up routing.
Replacement servers are already operational a week ago. There shouldn't be any downtime or disconnections to anyone as the capacity remains the same, that is 10 servers operational at any one time.

For some reason, when I use BolehVPN today, it's actually slower than without VPN.
VPN connects, All my torrents are green, but downloads are slow.
But when I turn VPN off, torrents remain green, and the speed picks up.
Seems like the throttling has been relaxed but the VPN itself has been throttled??

Once the P2P is unthrottled, it will be faster without VPN. TM does relaxed the P2P throttle during weekend especially when they are doing maintenance since they have to switch off most of the throttle devices.
In the meantime, due to TM screw-up routing for the last few weeks, we are adding a new US server to improve our performance. The server should be operational within 24 hours from the time the send us the server detail. Its being more than 12 hours since we ordered the server and we haven't heard from them yet on the ETA of the server.
Visit the support forum for details.

Looks like our new US provider doesnt have enough server to give to us though they already claimed payment to our credit card. Lets hope we have the server in the next 24 hours. In the mean time, 2 servers has been decommissioned the last 24 hours as part of our decentralised exercise.
refer to the our server home page for the latest servers status.

Reuben

Mohawk is now up. and configs are available in our forums.
Best IP is the one that gives you the best speeds lol. There aren't any certain GOOD ranges atm as TM performs their rerouting repairs.
However we do provide a guide in our FAQs on how to do ping tests to determine if your IP is a good one or not.
