Please define 'low'. AS for celcom3g, its the worse 3.5g support ever cause u get 3.5g if you are right in kl city center, so if you on 3g, u will get only 384kbs max. BUT if u use maxis, which have wider 3.5g then u get 3mbit easily if use with our bolehVPN.

my torrent speed is about 8-12kB/s (using bolehvpn) and <1kB/s without vpn, i'm using huawei modem and connected to HSDPA(3.5g). .a few months back i used my handphone to connect to UMTS network(3g) and my torrent donload was 20-40kB/s(without vpn service)..i was wondering if i could get back that speed..i'm using the 384kb/s package..

i'm asking if any other celcom users could get 20-40kB/s using standard package (384kb/s) connection.?

i think the area i'm staying have many 3g users hence slowing down my download speed.

ALL 3G comes with the 3.5G but you can only max to 384 3G due to celcom limited 3.5G coverage.
I'm using 3G celcom and can get max 384 if the signal is good. Which Huawei are you using? usually if you can get green color then you on 3G and if its blue, then you on GPRS and if signal is weak, you will not get the full speed.

Put the 3G card in your 3G phone and get connected to the net and see if the phone detect it as 3G or GPRS?

i locked my connection to 3g..but my max receive rate never go pass 200kb/s..i'm staying at my hostel right now and i could get 384kb/s at my house in kl..
i just want to know currently how fast torrent download can go with celcom3g + bolehvpn?..can bolehvpn by pass the throttle?

Simple answer is yes it can bypass BUT celcom implementation of its 3G is restricted since all 3G connection goes to a proxy server which will reduce your connection for torrenting. You will probably be sharing the same IP with many other users and this will result in degradation of the speed.

My recommendation, terminate celcom and get maxis+bolehvpn, value for money, u get a dynamic but dedicated IP and max bandwidth.

The IP assigned to you is the VPN IP which is a private IP and if you are not using http proxy or not connected to bolehroute, you will be using streamyx/ISP IP for surfing purposes.

Yes. As long as your ftp clients support proxy setting it should be ok. However ftp is not throttled by tm.

yes its true, but ip range 124.13.xxxx and 60.50xx, 60.51xx & 60.54xx make ftp dwload slow like turtle, i always get this ip range, no matter how many i reconnect or turn off router

Yo, you have to configure your ftp client to use bplehvpn http proxy. there is no username or password for that. Unless your ftp server asaking you for it. Please use the support forum.

Another option is to get your friend who is currently with us to set up utorrent webui on your pc and have you share the VPNed torrent client within your own home Then get him to share his folder on the network so you can both access the goodies and initiate/start/stop downloads without having to get an additional account.

It means you can have a maximum total connections of peers or external IP of 300. In other words, you can connect to 300 different computers (peers) at the same time to download or upload in filesharing of peer-to-peer (p2p) client. In most cases, 30-40 peers per torrent is all you need to get good download speed.

If you do P2P before then you should know about this. If you a total noob, start googling p2p download.

Also 230 global is the recommended setting by utorrent for our Streamyx upload speed.

How to check if my connection is ok? I try to download ubuntu like in the guide said but I got only <10kB/s. Last time (from my 4 days subscription), I manage to get >50kB/s. But with my current 60 days, all my torrent doesn't perform like before. Please help.

I'll answer the few here quickly:



Browse to C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config and double click on your username.crt file. You should see the expiry there. Remember that sometimes it shows it in US format which displays the month first
