Does anyone know if Bolehvpn works with Limewire? and what download speed am i to expect if i use that service?

ive been a BolehVPN user for quite some time now..

i can remember 2-3 occasions when i used it with Limewire..it worked.. but i think the speed depends on the "seeds" or "users sharing", cant remember the proper term used.. i remember hitting 100+ kb/s, but that was when my utorrent was also running and downloading.. never tried it solely with Limewire alone on tho..

well, nowadays i dun use Limewire, when ever i want to download a song, i just find the torrent for the album and download the whole thing.. usually less than 100mb and takes me 15-20 mins since im on 1.5mb screamyx

Thanx for the fast response man. So are u suggesting i use utorrent instead?. And is there any configuration that i have to make to utorrent or just install it?. I was using limewire because the last time i installed utorrent and the download speed was damn slow......but when i use limewire downloading seems to be faster..
pls advice...

during the days of Dial Up few years back, i used Limewire all the time for my mp3 downloads.. but since getting streamyx, and powered with BolehVPN, ive ditched Limewire and used torrents coz i find it easier.. and since for torrent, they come in albums, and not single MP3 files, i just download the whole album at one go
but ive had on occasions as i said, 2-3 times, gone back to Limewire to find some rare mp3's... and on those times, ive set Limewire to use BolehVPN and it worked fine..

...sorry for the confusion man but you answered my question somehow!!!! I haven't subscibe for BolehVPN yet, I am not sure how it performs with limewire....so i guess i'll use utorrent for downloading when i subscribe for VPN.

u could get a 3 day trial 1st.. test the waters before committing to a 30day subscription..

u just need to set up the proxy in Limewire to use BolehVPN and the speed comes..
same thing u need to do when u set up utorrent or any other torrent client for that matter

All backdated application for keys on 1st April (and its not April Fools joke) has been issued. Those who submitted and yet to receive the keys please contact us immediately.

Those who are experiencing disconnection, please visit our blog or support forum for the new config files and instructions in enabling the new servers. We are monitoring the performance of the new servers and will add more servers if situation warrants it. New servers are Dell Servers with Xeon CPU and each is giving additional 20%-30% more speed that the terminated servers.

If speed you want, services, support or just plain fast response, then bolehVPN is the answer.

how faster cpu make p2p faster? i read a website and say vpn only need fast connection no need fast cpu because it is only store and forward connections.

also i wan to ask if bolehvpn got log connection or not? how to know who abuse your server what if you don't log

1. Fast CPU with process much faster encryptions which means can process more connections per second.
2. Which website you read? Probably those guys never try using a 10000 connections at the same time.
3. We don't log what you download cause that will affect performance.
4. We only log where, who and what time else if people complaint then we got nothing to check against.
5. We know people abuse server cause HBO, MPAA inform us through their anti-P2P tracking. They will inform us that some in our IP is doing something illegal.

Well, polis don;t know what is P2P yet unless its Pencuri 2 Pencuri. Ever heard of anyone get caught downloading P2P in Malaysia?

If it's from the Malaysian side that's pretty tough for them since all the data is encrypted and none of the servers are located in Malaysia anyway.

it's from the international side, they still have some legal challenges to do to prove it since they only see up to our server and not beyond.

our logs are kept for a very limited time only and it's meant to weed out abusers so it's pretty difficult for them to do anything.

can reach up to 55kb/s, but normally it had 30kb/sec
if you lucky enuf, will get 45kb/sec
however, it faster then normal, because without vpn, maximum speed will get is 5~10kb ;(

baowen is about right but you should be able to max out your connection to around 50 kb/sec on a 512 connection if the seeder/peer ratio is good.

Baowen: relating to your question it depends on how you have configured it. If you use BolehVPN without any proxy settings inside your browser, you will get your own IP, however if you use bolehroute then you will the server's IP. You also should be able to specify the http proxy in BolehVPN configs as well in your browser.

Please refer to the installation guide again which shows you how to do it.
