Nope, his whole hand is real. He just used photoshop and worked with many layers and transparency to set which objects comes infront and which goes at the back. Maybe he edited the lighting a bit. The calculator and all the icons are from the desktop screen. The wall you see as the screen wall paper is a picture of the wall and not a wallpapers set to the picture of the wall. Notice too the reflection of the lightbulb. He took all pictures using lighting from that sole lightbulb alone to give depth to the image because of the presence of shadows. And a single light source prduces the simplest shadow pattern, easy to photo manip.

seems logical too... actually abit out of topic... we should be discuss about the wallpaper but not the real hand holding the calculator on the screen.. haha

mostly using a laptop or an lcd monitor. easier to move to match with background.

It's not just about the wallpaper, you've gotta make sure the angle is correct when you take the picture, to complete the illusion.
