I bought it from a shop, comes with 1 year manufacturer warranty. Can't compare how it flares against other monitors as looking for a 24 inch is hard as rock here. It looks brighter and more crisp than the HP 24 inch one though, that's all I can say.
Care to share which shops carry them?
So far the other 24" are the BenQ & Samsungs.

Don't mean to be rude but I doubt it's useful if I tell you the shop name (which I forgot) since it's in KK. May be you try searching for Acer distributor in KL, there are few of them the last time I search.

Hi,
I'm planning to hook my laptop to a 32" monitor. I'm looking at Toshiba Regza. But I'm not sure if my laptop will support the resolution of 720p or 1080p.
Can you guy tell me what to look for when I shop for my new laptop. What do I have to take into consideration in terms of graphics card, resolution, etc?

Experience tell me most of the laptops output 1024 x 768.. but I'm no expert in this field, so don't take my words for it

I'm planning to get a HP laptop online. It have ATI radeon graphics card and also a HDMI output. So I'm just assuming it can connect to a HDTV. Not too sure about it, just my assumption & logic.
Anyone, connected their lappy's to HDTV before? 32" preferably.

Will the image on the HDTV be stretched? I'm just afraid that the image/icons will be very small on the 32. I don't wanna stare so close to the 32. I'm thinking the distance between my eye & the 32 should be about 3 feet. You agree?
At the distance of 3', the image/icon on the HDTV should be big enough so that I don't have to squeeze my eyed to look at documents or excel spreadsheets. You get what I mean? Therefore, before I invest in 1, I need to be 100% sure first. It ain't a cheap game after all.

IF u want to get a LCD for the sole purpose of becoming u'r PC screen, then i suggest u go with a LCD monitor instead? Why? Because the pixels for a 32 LCD TV is too big. Its just awkward to use a LCD TV for computer usage.
And to answer u'r question.. No the Image will NOT be stretched. U just have to make sure u're outputting to the native LCD TV display res.
Just FYI, surfing/working on a 19" LCD MONITOR beats a 32" LCD TV anytime. Its definitely more comfortable.

Is that true?
What about the pixels for a 1080p HDTV as my monitor?
When you said the pixels are too big, you mean to say that the icon on my desktop will look very big, thus, the image quality will deteriorate. Is that what you meant?
Another 1 of my concern is that while viewing images/icons on my laptop looks good & normal, but I'm afraid when I hook it up to the 32, I will see jagged edges on the icons/images. Can anyone please verify or add to this.

Why don't you try it on your monitor first? And see what resolution you'd get from your DVI/HDMI port.

I used to connect my DELL XPS to a Sony W400 which is Full HD. Its perfect when u use to watch movies but frankly speaking, sucks for PC usage.
No, the icons will not look big and ugly. Its just that its impossible to sit a few feet away and work on a 40" LCD. You will go blind for that.
Its really simple, just grab a VGA cable, drive to the shop and ask for permission to connect to their display set. Most of them will gladly oblige. Then u will have a much better idea. No point asking here since we can't give u a reasonable answer.

I thought about what you said, going to the shop & test it out. But sometimes when I think about, I'm not sure whether M'sian electronic store sellers & their mentality will allow me to do so. Well, I'll try it out next year in SenHeng or or electronic stores. Hope they allow me to.
I'm sure here in U.S ppl will allow me to do so. They'll be more than happy to guide me.
Thanks for the info.

32LG30 is it better than LC-32A33M? I'm actually looking for LC-32A53M, but I finally bought the 37LG30 due to its superb promotional price.
Well, I'm here for some suggestions. For you, LC-32A53M and 37LG30 which one will you choose? Better image quality VS bigger screen size...

Oct 31 2008, 11:06 AM
The expression "bigger is better" actually makes a pretty reasonable guideline when you're trying to decide on TV screen size. That's because we occasionally hear people wishing their TV's screen was bigger, but rarely hear them wishing their screen was smaller.
By the way, so far I know TV's screen size should depend on how far you'll be sitting from it, what you'll be watching, and your personal tastes and preferences. But I don't know why my father keep on argue with me when I select a 32" one. He said that, bigger is better then bought me a 37" one at almost the same price compare with that 32" one I chose.
Well, so what is your point of view?

With 46" and 52" Full HD LCD TV prices come 'crashing' down, I bet more and more consumers will consider it.
Seriously, you need to sit quite near (max 7' 6" according to Carlton Bale chart) if you have a 40" Full HD in order to truly appreciates its outstanding PQ.
