They selling Samsung 32" Full HD LA32A550 at the price of rm3199, which i saw at Midvalley's HSL which cost rm3499.
i think it's reliable because i went to search for their collection shop at Kepong and it's really there and have a 100% positive feedback in lelong.com
The only problem is... i dont think they accepting any kind of credit card installment... since i'm a mid wage salary worker...

The looking at the W series, maybe I'm wrong, but the 40W seems nearly similar to the V series. so, adding another 2k to the price might make u go yaya. But that is considering the fact that I'm unsure if 100Hz is present on the 40W.
The W400A is not 100Hz panel even though it's 1080p. This panel is below the X series which is 1080p and 100Hz.
Well, the W400A is quite similar to the V400A series in shape, size and weight series except for the Wide Colour Gamut and 10bit backpanel available on the W400A.

The 32 incher of the W-series is a 1920x1080 8-bit panel... the 40 and 46 incher of the W and V series should be 10 bit panels
Don't think the V400A or the S400A panel for that matter is 10bit though.

It's better to trust your eyes than the salesman.
Yes, the Sony panel and Samsung panel are from the same supplier. However, the processor (heart of the LCD TV) is of utter importance, which will affect the PQ of the LCD TV.
As for Sharp, even if it is made in China, that doesnt make it a bad product as such MNC will impose stringent QC as to protect their image. No offence, the salesman is a crap!

hi guys,
wanna ask bout 40/42 panel, i'm going to feed it with the console, laptop and hdmi dvd player. considering the sony's KLV-40S400A and lg's 42LG53FR. both of them are full hd right.
sony's 40s400a is not a 100Hz panel right? and how about lg's? how bout the response time for the s400a, can't find it on the sony's web.
i'm also wondering about the their PQ's. is there's any big difference between them? i've seen the 40s400a being feed with a samsung's hdmi bd player and it's

. For the lg's, i've only managed to view a feed from a component cables and there's a strange jaggy lines on it, could it be that it's being caused by the setup and not by the tv?
i'm in favor for the s400a but if the lg's is not too inferior (in quality and support) when compared to it, might as well get the lg's and i can save around rm700 (and then lose it again for the LBP and POP at the end of the year hehe..)
thinking on getting it next weekend. appreciate all feedbacks. thanks.

Be careful about 100hz Lcd panel. I read a review which says that it makes the picture look very amateurish. For me I would prefer just the regular 60hz panel. After all bluray movies are only 24fps and fast moving pictures are suppose to have motion blur to look like fast moving. 100hz tends to make the fast moving picture look static therefore not giving you the sense of motion. I guess that is why the reviewer says 100hz Lcd panel tends to make pictures look amateurish.

I can't really tell you which LCD suites you better, you've got to see it for yourself to actually like it. Some people has specific brands in mind, so despite how good other LCD TVs are compared to the brand they have in mind, they would still go for the brand instead, like Sony.
As for the price ranges, you can see that there's some LCD TVs that range around RM2k+. Most of the are, of course, labeled as HD ready only. Which means they only display a lower resolution compared to the ones labeled Full HD. If you're planning to get a 40 inch or a 42 inch, it's recommended that you get the ones with Full HD instead. Even the smaller ones, contrary to popular belief that it doesn't make a difference if your screen size is smaller that you wouldn't notice any difference, is incorrect. If you can afford one with Full HD, then take the Full HD instead of the HD ready TV.
Brand wise, there's a lot to choose from. The popular brands in this forum are Sony, Samsung and Panasonic (mostly Plasma TVs). They have the most choices to choose from compared to the other brands. Try getting the middle ranges series. For eg. Samsung has 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9 series TVs. The high end ones are the 6,7 and 9. They'll cost you a bomb but they're definitely the cream of the cream. Series 4 and 5 are the ones in the mid-range, which is decent enough for the money you're paying.
Try going to their respective official sites and read more about their LCD TVs. You'll generally get a better understanding and you'll the know advantage of one brand over the other.

Where's the dead pixel? If its smacked right in the center of the screen, then u might be able to argue that it disrupts your viewing pleasure.
But to be honest, if u view the screen at "normal" distance, I doubt u can see the dead pixel.
You should have checked the panel before u accepted it.
Also, I'm pretty sure Samsung doesn't cover a single dead pixel. I have two 32" LCDs from them and my experience with the Samsung warranty is anything but satisfactory.
